About the Opportunity
As a Practice Nurse, you will:
- Provide clinical support to GPs, including immunisations, wound care, pathology, and ECGs.
- Assist with recalls, 715 Health Assessments, GP management plans, and team care arrangements.
- Maintain compliance with RACGP accreditation standards
- Support chronic disease management, health promotion, and patient education.
- Ensure accurate documentation, stock control, and safe equipment management.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general practice nursing.
- Experience in immunisations, wound care, pathology, and chronic disease management.
- Current QLD Driver's Licence, Blue Card, First Aid/CPR, and National Police Check.
- Strong communication, organisation, and IT skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- QLD Nurse Immuniser qualification.
- Familiarity with Medical Director or PIRS software.
- Knowledge of RACGP accreditation standards.
- Previous experience in Aboriginal health or rural practice.

- Cannulate and collect blood samples safely and efficiently in line with clinical protocols.
- Work collaboratively with Aboriginal Health Workers and other clinical staff to provide culturally appropriate care.
- Participate in outreach clinics to Eden, Wallaga Lake and other sites as required.
- Engage in health promotion and community development activities to support local health priorities.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record system.
- Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans, recalls and follow up systems.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits and accreditation processes.
- Adhere to infection control, cold chain management and workplace health and safety standards.
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of 3 years post graduate nursing.
- Immunisation Certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Competence in venepuncture.
- Experience in primary healthcare, community health or chronic disease management.

The primary function of this position is to provide high quality nursing practice including assessment, examination, treatment, case management, health promotion, quality improvement and population health education.
Job details:
- Agency Casual Contract - 8-12 weeks
- Up to $75/hr
- Start in August preferred
- Clinic Hours Monday to Friday - No Weekends or On Call
- Two locations available
- Travel and Housing provided

To be eligible you must have:
- Have full ahpra registration with no restrictions
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Practice or Primary Health Nurse
- Immunisation Certification and experience
- Experience with Chronic Disease Management
- Experience with Blood Collection
- All your nursing competencies up to date
- Experience working in Indigenous health and communities - desirable
- Have full Australian working rights (i.e., Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, a valid Working Visa, or New Zealand Citizenship)
