Dentist Job in Grafton, New South Wales, Australia. Senior Public Health Role with Leadership Responsibilities, Rural Incentives, and Stunning Coastal Location. This is a senior clinical leadership role within the Northern NSW Local Health District, offering a unique opportunity to provide high-quality care while leading a team across two locations: the well-equipped main clinic in Grafton, and a satellite clinic in the iconic coastal town of Yamba.
You will bring significant experience in general dentistry, ideally with exposure to both community and hospital settings, including the delivery of care under general anaesthesia. In addition to hands-on clinical work, your role will involve mentoring and supervising junior staff, maintaining clinical governance standards, and contributing to service development across the district. A full clinical orientation and onboarding programme will be provided.
This position includes a designated admin day per week, with the remainder focused on clinical duties. You'll have the chance to contribute to public oral health strategy and quality improvement initiatives, supported by a wider team of health professionals across the district.
Grafton is a vibrant regional town located just under two hours from Byron Bay, surrounded by rivers, national parks, and heritage architecture. Yamba, just an hour away, is a laid-back coastal community famed for its surf beaches, relaxed lifestyle, and natural beauty. Together, they offer the perfect mix of rural charm and coastal living - with easy access to southeast Queensland and the Northern Rivers' lush hinterland.
Candidates will be AHPRA registered or qualified from Australia, UK, Ireland, or Canada, or be registered or qualified in New Zealand or have undertaken the ADC examination to ensure automatic AHPRA registration.

They strive to provide culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary healthcare to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. You will be working in the East Arnhem Land part of the Northern Territory. The community is known for its Indigenous art centre, beautiful beaches, and unique natural landscapes. As part of your role as Remote Area Nurse / Clinical Team Lead you will mentor students and Aboriginal Health Practitioners (AHPs), support AHPs as the primary health carers within the community, and work to build stronger communities together with the wider team.

Essential Criteria
- AHPRA registration with no restrictions
- REC, MEC, ALS, NT ISTAT certificate
- Current Manual Driver's License

- Willing to travel in small charter planes, and the ability to drive a 4WD will be looked upon favorably
- Must have full Australian working rights (i.e., Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, a valid Working Visa, or New Zealand Citizenship)

We are seeking a Quality of Care Workstream Lead to guide and deliver the Clinical Outcomes Workstream within the Transformation Office. With the support of the Workstream Sponsor and a dedicated team of project and change professionals, you will lead initiatives that enhance outcomes for residents and staff, ensuring care is not only compliant but also compassionate, holistic, and future-focused.
The Opportunity
As the Quality of Care Workstream Lead, you will hold the stream accountable for achieving its vision:
To provide holistic, compassionate, and innovative clinical care that enhances the quality of life and well-being of all seniors, fostering a safe and nurturing environment where every individual can thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Clinical Outcomes Workstream within the Quality of Care Transformation Office, driving improvements in residential aged care services.
- Coordinating and delivering existing clinical initiatives while planning and implementing new solutions that address current pain points and meet the needs of the “resident of the future.”
- Developing and executing project plans with the support of the Transformation Office, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and timelines.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, data analysts, and clinical staff.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders and aged care colleagues.
- Monitoring progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Supporting workshops, training, and change management initiatives to embed new practices.
- Reporting on performance metrics and providing actionable insights to leadership.
About You
We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative leader with the drive to make a real impact. To succeed, you will bring:
- Relevant qualifications in Health, Public Health, Nursing and/or Aged Care (must hold current AHPRA registration).
- Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably within residential aged care, healthcare, home care, or community care.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven influencing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make evidence-based recommendations.
- A strong desire to drive change, deliver results, and improve the quality of life for residents.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practice in Residential Aged Care.
