About My Role
As a Social Worker at Northcott, I will be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team including Social Workers, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists. Together, we provide contemporary, evidence-informed therapies that support our clients in achieving their goals.
I will take an interprofessional approach , working closely with therapists to ensure customers receive holistic and coordinated support. I will bring a demonstrated referral network and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with relevant external organisations, ensuring both interim and ongoing support is available for our customers. This role involves travel across Northcott’s service centres, with a company vehicle provided.

Applicants must have at least 2+ years of disability support worker experience, have experience of working with adults and children with high intensity support needs and / or behaviours of concern, be able to evidence commitment to the role through ongoing personal development & learning, be able to demonstrate during interview understanding of the compliance requirements & professional boundaries of the role, enjoy working as a team and who are committed to delivering quality care.
With a variety of roles all applicants must be flexible or able to commit to be available to work on certain days / times at least 6 weeks ahead as well as being able to travel to more than one client's home a day making a current driving licence and car essential.
NDIS WORKER SCREENING CHECK, POLICE CHECK, FIRST AID/CPR, WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK, CAR & CAR LICENCE ARE ESSENTIAL. Some roles also require applicants to hold a current medication administration and / or manual handling certificate as well as being available to attend regular paid training sessions.
Immediate starts available for some roles where successful applicants are able to provide all required up to date documents, licences, checks & certifications.
Important:
Applicants will only be considered who have a minimum of 2+ years' experience working as a disability support worker and all their documents are current and up to date. Experience of working with people with Autism/ADHD, Mental Health, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Intellectual Disabilities, Young Adults, Dementia & Advance Manual Handling Supports, Behaviours of Concern, Restrictive Practices will be highly regarded.
Applicants who are willing to be flexible on days, times and location or who can commit to be available to work at least 4 weeks ahead of time will be highly regarded by the company.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, Vaccinations (including COVID), CPR & First Aid, right to work in Australia, 100 Points of ID, Driving Licence and access to a reliable car are essential.
Cert III Individual Supports, Cert IV Disability and / or Mental Health Care Qualification, or equivalent are preferred.
Current medication administration certification and / or manual handling certification is required for some roles.
Full driving licence, access to a reliable car & comprehensive car insurance.
Ability to communicate, problem solve and use life experience along with a full understanding of compliance, professional boundaries, privacy & consent and who have integrity, honesty & reliability are critical attributes for this role, as is a good sense of humour.
You will be required to undertake online knowledge & skills development ongoing as part of your role as well as attend regular onsite paid training sessions.
