+ Conducts system health checks, monitors system performance, implements upgrades and patches, and may be assigned to the role of Proactive Support Engineer to major customers.
+ Develops and implements technical systems solutions and ensures that customer requirements are met and that the solution is deployed in accordance with Oracle's best practices.
+ Works as part of a team to analyse customer requirements and recommend appropriate system design solutions.
+ Works closely with customers' project and implementation teams to identify potential areas for technical improvements, system enhancements and discrete tranches of work that can be implemented to deliver defined business benefits for the customer.

**Job Description**
This is a technical delivery position based in Canberra. As a technical member of Oracle's Customer Success Services (CSS) Delivery organisation, provide technical delivery for the successful delivery and implementation of complex, system solutions. The position will provide configuration management, capacity planning, and performance tuning for production environments. It also requires hands-on involvement during system implementation to ensure that the appropriate level of technical oversight and compliance to design standards is met.
This role is typically part of an Oracle delivery team working on several engagements for Federal Government and may involve working independently on several sites. In addition, there may be a requirement to provide technical consulting to Oracle's partners and suppliers.
**Skills and Competencies:**
+ **Sound technical skills** and experience with a range of technologies including **Solaris 10/11 OS** , **Oracle Linux** (or equivalent), Sun servers and file systems (ZFS and LVM), system management tools, proprietary switches, and network hardware.
+ Experience with virtualisation technologies.
+ Working knowledge of TCP-IP protocols.
+ Working experience with storage and backup technologies (Backup management technologies, SAN, NAS, RAID).
+ Experience with Sun Oracle Hardware (for example SPARC, x86) and storage products
+ Provide technical assistance to Oracle's Project Managers in developing implementation and deployment strategies for systems solutions.
+ Assist with the management and resolution of technical issues arising from solution implementations.
+ Display high levels of energy and drive with strong business acumen, process orientation and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
