**About the role**
Our Transport Planning and Advisory team partners with its clients to provide traffic and transport solutions for the community and we currently seek a Transport Designer to join our team based in Melbourne. + Undertake site inspections and gather base information on road environment, traffic and road safety observation, parking inventories and facilities etc.
+ Prepare transport design plans including concept, functional layouts, swept path assessments, line marking and signage and traffic signal design.
+ Design projects will include a wide range of scenarios, including car park design, site access and internal road network design, intersection design, loading dock facilities, active travel, public transport infrastructure, local area traffic management and construction traffic management etc.
+ Familiarity with relevant design standards and requirements for horizontal (2D) alignments
+ Prepare fee proposals, design reports and other design related documentation.
+ Liaise with clients, project teams and authorities to progress design projects.
+ Collaborate with the Transport Design team as well as other internal engineering disciplines.
**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Diploma or Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline
+ 2 - 5 years' experience working within a traffic and transport design or engineering capacity and familiarity with appropriate CAD software such as Microstation.
+ Experience of working in a consulting environment or for local/ state government in a similar role.
+ A good working knowledge of best practice standards, guidelines, current trends and legislation in order to deliver innovative and practical traffic and transport design solutions.
+ Excellent communication skills to strongly, confidently and succinctly present traffic and transport issues and results of design outcomes to a wide audience.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a technically minded and delivery driven mid level Structural Designer/Modeller for an opportunity to join our diverse team of highly regarded professionals in Brisbane. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next big step in their career with a global market leader.
You will work with a diverse team who are committed to ensuring we remain a key partner to our clients, not to mention a key contributor to delivering projects. You will be responsible for the BIM delivery of our structural engineering opportunities including, Defence, Maritime and infrastructure projects. The KBR Brisbane team are currently working on some of Australias' most iconic projects and this is an opportunity for you to demonstrate and expand your design and leadership credentials.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will hold an Associate Degree/Diploma of Design or Engineering and have a few years of experience using software such as Revit, Navisworks and AutoCad for a variety projects in either the Defence, Maritime or Infrastructure fields. You should also have a solid understanding of BIM delivery on government and non-government projects.
You will have the ability to technically help deliver project documentation requirements within a multi-disciplinary project according to budget, schedule and quality requirements whilst holding the desire to work in and help build an environment that encourages and supports growth and efficiency.
