The role is primarily responsible for the art direction of the AFR’s weekly lifestyle liftout, Life & Leisure, taking ownership of visual concepts which work in print and online. Additional responsibilities include art direction for the AFR’s quarterly gloss Fin! magazine.This is a 10 month contract to cover parental leave. We are open to applicants who wish to work part-time.In this role you will:work closely with the Life & Leisure and Fin! Magazine editors and the editorial team to produce a quality liftout and magazine.meet demanding weekly deadlines.organise and direct cover shoots.conduct extensive photo research to ensure all images are in keeping with the magazine's aesthetic.QualificationsWhat we would like to see: strong print production skills, ideally with experience in magazines or lifestyle.a sophisticated eye for design and the ability to redesign pages when required.ability to work autonomously and to deadline, within a team environment.excellent attention to detail and adaptability.advanced working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.Additional InformationNine is Australia’s largest locally owned media company.
