The Data Engineer (Consultant) is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for the transformation of data into a structured format that can be easily analyzed in a query or report.
This role is responsible for developing structured data sets that can be reused or complimented by other data sets and reports.
This role analyzes the data sources and data structure and designs and develops data models to support the analytics requirements of the business which includes management / operational / predictive / data science capabilities.
**Key responsibilities:**

+ Designs and develops scalable extract, transformation and loading (ETL) packages from the business source systems and the development of ETL routines to populate data from sources,
+ Participates in the transformation of object and data models into appropriate database schemas within design constraints.

+ Creates test scenarios and be responsible for participating in thorough testing and validation to support the accuracy of data transformations.
+ Accountable for running data migrations across different databases and applications, for example MS Dynamics, Oracle, SAP and other ERP systems.
+ Works across multiple IT and business teams to define and implement data table structures and data models based on requirements.
+ Accountable for analysis, and development of ETL and migration documentation.
+ Collaborates with various stakeholders to evaluate potential data requirements.
+ Accountable for the definition and management of scoping, requirements, definition, and prioritization activities for small-scale changes and assist with more complex change initiatives.

The National Measurement Institute (NMI) is a large division within the Department of Industry, Science, and Resources (DISR). The NMI supports DISR in meeting its objectives by being the national authority on measurement. We play a fundamental role underpinning the Australian economy by maintaining and regulating Australia’s measurement system, developing and maintaining national measurement standards, and delivering world-class measurement products and client services.

NMI’s Legal Metrology Branch plays an important role in ensuring Australian consumers and industry can rely on trusted measurements for fair trade in goods and services. The Legal Metrology Branch supports and regulates industry to provide trusted measurements for fair trade in goods and services via administration of the National Measurement Act 1960 and subordinate regulations. The role will be within the Programs and Governance Section within the Legal Metrology Branch.

The opportunity

The Data Architect will support the Legal Metrology Branch to deliver a major IT enhancement project for DISR; the Trade Measurement Activity and Reporting System Phase 4 Enhancement Project (the project). The project will deliver critical enhancements to the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and associated NMI Services Portal (NMISP) as part of NMI’s broader digital strategy.

This is a 10-month non-ongoing position being filled specifically for this project. Extension or ongoing conversion may be considered upon completion of the project.

You will be the key team member working with the DISR Chief Information Officer Division (CIOD) and managers and users within the Legal Metrology and Physical Metrology Branches of the NMI. The National Measurement Institute (NMI) is a large division within the Department of Industry, Science, and Resources (DISR). The NMI supports DISR in meeting its objectives by being the national authority on measurement. We play a fundamental role underpinning the Australian economy by maintaining and regulating Australia’s measurement system, developing and maintaining national measurement standards, and delivering world-class measurement products and client services.

NMI’s Legal Metrology Branch plays an important role in ensuring Australian consumers and industry can rely on trusted measurements for fair trade in goods and services. The Legal Metrology Branch supports and regulates industry to provide trusted measurements for fair trade in goods and services via administration of the National Measurement Act 1960 and subordinate regulations. The role will be within the Programs and Governance Section within the Legal Metrology Branch.

The opportunity

The Data Architect will support the Legal Metrology Branch to deliver a major IT enhancement project for DISR; the Trade Measurement Activity and Reporting System Phase 4 Enhancement Project (the project). The project will deliver critical enhancements to the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and associated NMI Services Portal (NMISP) as part of NMI’s broader digital strategy.

This is a 10-month non-ongoing position being filled specifically for this project. Extension or ongoing conversion may be considered upon completion of the project.

You will be the key team member working with the DISR Chief Information Officer Division (CIOD) and managers and users within the Legal Metrology and Physical Metrology Branches of the NMI. We’re looking for candidates with strong analytical and communication skills who have a strong understanding of the data lifecycle. Ideally you will have knowledge of and demonstrated experience working with Dynamics 365 CRM applications with external portals. You will map current data holdings, inputs and dependencies impacted by the project and research and recommend options for improvement.

  • Design and implement documentation to support renewed data processes.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to optimise existing reporting processes, including setting standards for data accuracy and quality.

Basic Qualifications
* Ability to participate and manage a 24 x 7 rotating shift roster with team leadership experience.
* 4+ years of relevant work experience in maintaining a DC or Critical Space facility, or other critical environment with Technical (Military/Trade School) training
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Further education in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.

As a Data Security Solution Engineer, your mission is to lead with technical intensity and customer impact, driving security transformation through trusted engagements. This role places you at the heart of Microsoft's commitment to strengthening cybersecurity across customers.
You will spearhead technical conversations around Purview in M365 and Azure, guiding customers through the end to end experience of the Microsoft platform. Your role will be key to customers successfully adopting AI technologies and knowing their data is secure, not just from oversharing, but from modern threats too.
**Responsibilities**
+ **Purpose** : Elevate customer trust and outcomes by embedding technical rigour into every conversation.
+ **Drive Urgency** : Act fast to address evolving threats and reinforce Microsoft's cybersecurity leadership.
+ **Deliver Impact** : Deliver better customer outcomes and accelerate security outcomes through deeper technical focus
+ **Win the technical decision:** Drive technical wins in Data Security and Compliance across the Microsoft platform.
+ **V-Teaming:** Work as part of a v-team, across the Microsoft solution areas. Lead with customer impact, operate as one team, and scale through partners, peers and the Microsoft ecosystem.
+ **Sales:** Accelerate opportunity progression to customer commitment in partnership with Security Sales Specialists
