Full-time, Fixed-term position (1 year) Salary VE academic Level T3.1 to T5 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements Based on the Melbourne CBD campus, however, may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University.About YouAs a VE Teacher in Dental Assisting, you are responsible for delivering course content, assessing students, and supervising their progress in selected courses. You will partake in the continuous evaluation and enhancement of course materials, delivery methods, including online approaches, and student assessments. Collaborating with external organisations, industry groups, and RMIT colleagues forms a significant part of your role, ensuring your vocational competence aligns with the education you deliver.You will develop and implement effective teaching programs, assess student learning, and maintain accurate records. Identifying students at risk and working on strategies to boost their learning outcomes is essential. Additionally, you will assist in enhancing program services by using industry standards and feedback to refine delivery and assessment. Providing pre-course advice and supporting student selection and induction are key responsibilities.Industry engagement involves promoting school programs, building industry connections, and participating in consultancy projects, including training needs analysis and material development. Compliance with quality assurance processes and maintaining records to meet ASQA and regional standards is crucial. You will also contribute to the school's strategic plans and engage in professional development to ensure your vocational skills are current and relevant.To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum: Effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to teaching and consultancy environments. This includes effective presentation and facilitation skills, and in the use of flexible teaching methods. Demonstrated skills and experience in competency-based assessment. Ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed. Experience in relevant industry, and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position. Capacity to diagnose learning problems in students, propose and implement effective solutions. Ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team.
