**Job Summary:**
Amentum is seeking a highly experienced **Project Development & Controls Manager** to lead and manage proposal development and project controls for infrastructure and facility-related projects in Alice Springs. This position plays a key role in strategic planning, cost control, scheduling, and risk management, and works closely with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, compliant, and high-quality outcomes.
**Key Responsibilities:**

The Data Center Construction Manager (CM) is responsible for managing some of the most technical, cost efficient, and fast paced construction project schedules achievable. The Data Center CM will be responsible for:
- Project management and oversight of construction related activities for new builds or general capital projects in Melbourne. This will include the ownership of the project scope, timeline, and budget.
- Driving costs down and schedules shorter while maintaining quality.
- Provide Construction Management for specific initiatives aimed at increasing the resiliency of our data centers.
- Review of constructability of electrical and mechanical system and buiding designs associated with the construction of new data centers or the optimization of existing data centers.
- Creation of project scope and equipment requirements, assist with request for proposals, and capital requests.
- Total project quality including the assisting with commissioning and integrated system testing and oversight of the execution of the project.
- Issue/Manage the Request for Information process during construction and coordinate construction administration with engineers
- Recording and reporting key metrics to team members and management.
- Concurrently managing multiple projects including new data center building and capital improvement projects associated with existing data centers.
- Operational support of installed facilities including review of procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives.
- Be a leader within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center.
- Travel to datacenter sites for electrical systems audits, mechanical system reviews, constructability reviews, startup testing, and full commissioning, as required.
Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see day in the life
AWS Construction Managers lead the delivery of our Data Center projects. They work closely with Internal Stakeholders and Contractors, resolving project issues, managing RFIs, Change Orders and other key delivery functions. Our CMs spend the majority of the week on site working closely with our vendors to drive project outcomes.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in design and construction management experience
- Experience in program management in mission critical facilities

**Your New Role and Responsibilities**
This is a customer facing role which supports a key customer capability primarily based at the customer site in Melbourne CBD.
This role is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of project definition, planning and execution. This includes developing detailed project proposals, plans, managing resources and schedules, and ensuring that deliverables meet contractual and stakeholder requirements.
Key Responsibilities: -
+ Lead and manage multiple concurrent Survey & Quote (S&Q) projects from development through to submission.
+ Coordinate end-to-end project execution, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and progress monitoring.
+ Engage with customers to gather and clarify project requirements.
+ Collaborate with technical teams to scope, cost, and deliver proposals.
+ Communicate project status, risks, and improvements to stakeholders while driving continuous process enhancement.
What You'll Bring to Make An Impact
+ Extensive experience in project management, ideally in government, defence, aerospace, or IT sectors.
+ Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent qualification.
+ Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple technical projects in hybrid Waterfall/Agile environments.
+ Excellent communication skills for reporting, proposal development, and stakeholder engagement.

The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior to mid-level project manager to join the KBR team during an exciting growth phase. You will be directly responsible for delivery of a small portfolio of design and consulting projects across the spectrum of KBR's Infrastructure Services business activities in QLD. We are looking for people who are interested in transport, maritime, water utility or general infrastructure projects . The scope of projects are typically investigations, optioneering , planning and/or design projects for new infrastructure or working with existing assets in a brown field environment up to approximately $20M capital cost.
In the role you will either be managing your own project or suite of projects, or as a member of the project management team delivering large scale infrastructure projects. As a project manager you will provide leadership to deliver projects, safely, on time, within budget and to quality objectives while also building and maintaining client relationships and ongoing business.
Key Skills , experience, and attributes
+ Demonstrated experience in the Consulting Industry as a Project Manager (a range of experience across various infrastructure industries highly regarded).
+ Demonstrated experience in managing small-medium projects
+ A natural ability to build and develop client and peer relationships

**About the Role**
The Projects Manager, reporting to the General Manager, will assist Division heads in planning, execution, monitoring and closure of projects by managing documentation, coordinating project activities, maintaining schedules, tracking project deliverables and facilitating communication among stakeholders.
