As Room Division Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of our Front Office and Housekeeping. You'll lead, mentor, and inspire your teams to deliver seamless service and unforgettable guest experiences, while ensuring operational excellence behind the scenes.
Working closely with department managers, you'll set the tone for efficiency, engagement, and high performance - ensuring that every guest leaves with lasting memories of the InterContinental experience.
**What You'll Do**
+ Lead the Front Office and Housekeeping teams to deliver world-class guest service.
+ Drive operational standards, productivity, and team engagement.
+ Driving guest satisfaction scores and maintaining the hotel's reputation for excellence.
+ Collaborate with the General Manager and senior leadership team to achieve business goals and performance targets, including managing budgets, labour costs, and productivity targets.
+ Support and develop department managers to reach their full potential.
+ Maintain strong cost control and maximise room profitability.
+ Play an active role in enhancing the guest journey from check-in to check-out.
+ Act as the Hotel's First Responder in emergency/crisis situations.
+ Represent the Rooms Division within the hotel leadership team.
**What We're Looking For**
+ Proven experience as a Front Office Manager, Rooms Division Manager or similar leadership role within a luxury or upper-upscale hotel environment is essential
+ You're a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
+ You understand what it takes to deliver five-star luxury with warmth and authenticity.
+ You have strong communication and leadership skills and know how to bring teams together.
+ You're financially savvy and operationally sharp.
+ You're locally based or looking to relocate to the Mornington Peninsula area.
+ You're flexible and available to work weekends, public holidays, and as business demands require.

About the Role:
The Rooms Division Manager (RDM) is a key leadership role responsible for the entire Front of House operation. The RDM coordinates and oversees all activities within Front Office, working closely with the Executive Housekeeper, Maintenance Manager, Guest Services and Reservations Manager to ensure seamless and outstanding guest experiences from booking to check-out. In the General Manager's absence, the RDM acts as the Manager on Duty for the entire hotel, embodying the brand's values, driving revenue growth, and personally engaging with all guests, especially regular guests and VIPs. This role requires strong leadership to motivate, develop, and empower the Rooms Division team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute rate management, including setting rates and restrictions, and managing distribution channels to grow revenue streams (Rate and Occupancy) ahead of the market along with the Revenue Services Team.
- Maintain a visible presence in guest areas to lead by example and reinforce service standards.
- Coordinate Front of House departments, maintain exemplary guest service standards, ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of public spaces and rooms, and act as the Manager on Duty when required.
- Motivate, empower, and provide clear direction to teams, focusing on training, development, and maintaining wage costs within budget by overseeing fortnightly rosters.
- Analyze Rooms Division P&L statements (including RevPAR, occupancy, etc.), compose concise financial commentary, and accurately forecast rooms revenue and associated labour costs for peak periods.
- Actively promote the Priority Guest Rewards program (acquisition and recognition), efficiently review and respond to guest feedback, and implement solutions to service problems.
- Ensure compliance with WHS, fire safety, financial and regulatory requirements for all guest-facing operations
- Ensure continued adherence to all hotel policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, while serving as a visible brand ambassador for the hotel and EVT, promoting EVENT properties.
Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, guidance, and development to colleagues, communicating effectively in a caring, fair, and professional manner.
- Strong capability in analyzing departmental P&L statements, revenue per available room (RevPAR), average rate, and managing budgets, with experience in generating displacement and feasibility models for group bookings.
- Proven ability to identify, analyze, and efficiently resolve operational problems and guest service issues.
- Experience in rate management, maximising profit through distribution channels, and successfully promoting Guest Loyalty Programs (e.g., Priority Guest Rewards).
- A history of working with trust and integrity across departments (Housekeeping, Maintenance, Reservations) to create a positive, professional environment focused on growth and profitability.
- Ability to be present, visible, and approachable for both staff and guests, with experience personally engaging with regular guests and VIPs.
