**Job Description**
Due to significant contract awards within our South Australian and ANZ business, we are expanding our team and are currently searching for a proven Drainage Engineer to join our Adelaide office.
We are known as industry leaders in the delivery of water resources projects, particularly in the areas of flood risk assessment, coastal engineering, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, drainage design, mine water management, and disaster management. In this role, you will support a variety of projects across a range of market sectors, with a focus on transport (road, rail and air) and defence markets located across South Australia and beyond.
By joining our team, you will have access to mentoring and guidance from our industry leading experts. You will also have the opportunity to work and collaborate with interstate and international offices.
**What will a day in this role look like:**
+ Manage and deliver local projects from strategy to detailed drainage design and delivery.
+ Communicate with internal/external stakeholders and assist in project delivery across various sectors.
+ Mentor and guide junior engineers, designers, and drafters; collaborate across engineering disciplines.
+ Apply drainage engineering expertise to contribute to project design and delivery in diverse markets.
+ Lead client-facing projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
+ Develop project leadership and design management skills while influencing office culture.
**Qualifications**

**What are we looking for from you?**
+ Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering & CPEng (highly regarded)
+ Strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication and the ability work well in a team environment as well as independently
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to quickly build rapport and communicate with various stakeholders
+ An appetite for fast-paced project delivery, and the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
+ Ideally, demonstrated experience with drainage modelling and design packages such as DRAINS, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), RORB, XPRAFTS, URBS, 12d, MUSIC, GoldSim, IQQM, TUFLOW etc.
+ Good working knowledge of ARR 2019, TMR Drainage Manual, and QUDM.

The Data Center Global Services (DCGS) team is looking for a passionate, results-oriented, inventive Civil Engineer to drive design and construction in a client-side technical lead role for the delivery of our enterprise data center campus projects.
As a Civil Engineer, you will work as part of the wider Data Center Design Engineering Team collaborating with our Real Estate, Construction and other partner teams. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of design delivery ensuring we continue to meet and exceed our industry leading quality and performance requirements.
Utilizing your Civil Engineering expertise, you will assist in site selection, assessment of due diligence reports, supporting with overall campus and site planning and development ultimately playing a pivotal role throughout the delivery of Data Center projects.
The successful candidate will be strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly with a history of delivering for their customers. The DCGS business requires creative engineering balanced with high quality and customer focus. You must be able to work as part of a large and dynamic team, including many internal stakeholders, customers as well as external stakeholders like design consultants, developers and general contractors.
Key job responsibilities
- Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
- Develop and maintain design standards, design prototypes, and template specifications related to site design.
- Coordinate with Due Diligence teams to determine site selection criteria and review Due Diligence reports.
- Create, review, and release design RFPs.
- Manage our external civil/structural/architectural design consultants through the design and construction process.
- Review designs for grading, storm water, utilities, and pavement.
- Coordinate with internal and external Architecture, Structure and MEP design engineers.
- Effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
- Manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously.
- Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce costs without negative impacts on quality or reliability.
- Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with authorities having jurisdiction. Anticipated travel is approximately 25%.
A day in the life
Given Amazon's global presence, 25% travel is required. This includes international travel to inspect and audit current and future data center sites. Collaboration with international teams is essential, and you may need to travel for workshops to develop schematic and detailed design documentation packages.

Basic Qualifications
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Ideally +10 years civil engineering experience on land development, large industrial, warehouse and commercial projects.
- Proficiency in earthworks, grading, paving, storm water, utility design and landscaping.
- Solid understanding of local standards and council design standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Australian professional Civil Engineering accreditation (CPENG, NER).
- Motivated, dependable, and capable of working with limited oversight.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability and willingness to think outside of the box to find innovative solutions
