We are looking for engineers with hands on electrical design experience across the project lifecycle from concept design through construction, to commissioning and handover. Amazon has a global presence and 25% travel will be expected as part of this role. Projects will be throughout the region and a degree of international travel and support will be necessary.
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Work with internal teams to understand and respond to evolving user requirements.
- Lead Data center electrical designs in collaboration with other disciplines to create a coordinated construction document set.
- Participate in site selection reviews.
- Critical Data Center equipment design including site-wide MV infrastructure, Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Switchgear, Transformers and Earthing.
- Creation of designs which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements.
- Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipment.
- Work with local utilities to understand and define site utility requirements.
- Work with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with IEC requirements, the various APAC wide design codes and other jurisdictional requirements.
- Review and approval of equipment submittals.
- Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases.
- Work with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.
- Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
- Travel to sites for site review and work with onsite field engineers, as well as provide engineering evaluations, electrical systems audits, and startup as needed.
- Be a leader within the global group as well as within internal and external teams that support Amazon's data centers.

Basic Qualifications
- Degree in an Electrical Engineering with Cumulative 6+ years experience with mission critical electrical design.

In this role, you will be working on our extensive Grid Interconnection Studies whilst gaining diverse experience across Islanded Systems, diverse power system studies (BESS, Onshore transmission) and you will gain opportunities to progress into Owner's Engineer (OE) roles.

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the independent selection, evaluation, and application of relevant engineering knowledge, techniques and procedures in support of the safe and effective operation, maintenance and management of facility assets, infrastructure and systems at OASIS
**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Perform technical studies, analyses, investigations and consultations.
+ Identify, define and develop detailed requirements for facility
+ infrastructure, equipment and system modification, replacement, upgrade and/or recapitalization
+ Design and/or develop solutions for a variety of technical problems of moderate to extreme scope and complexity across the electrical engineering discipline.
+ Review and provide technical advice on proposed changes to facility infrastructure and system changes, from general concepts through to detailed IFC designs
+ Perform engineering calculations in support of facility infrastructure operation and design
+ Provide technical recommendations, input, direction and advice on facilities system, infrastructure and equipment reliability, operation, maintenance, life-cycle management and costing
+ Development of ROM costing estimates in support of facility infrastructure, equipment and system modification, upgrade, replacement and/or recapitalization
+ Evaluate operational systems, equipment, processes and infrastructure in support of general and targeted optimization and improvement initiatives
+ Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements
+ Any other reasonable duties as requested.

+ Undergraduate Degree Field: Electrical Engineering or other relevant or related discipline ·
**Desirable**
+ Post Graduate Qualifications Field: Any relevant or related discipline.
**EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS**
**Minimum Essential**
Familiarity with power generation and distribution, load management, and data center power systems preferred. Minimum one year of experience with building management and control systems, building management and control systems and facilities operation and maintenance required. Experience with project management and leadership desired.

+ Able to fluently read, write and speak English

**THE ROLE**

**Electrical Engineer for Power**
**This position is contingent upon contract award**
Amentum is seeking an **Electrical Power Engineer** to support a requirement for a US Government contract in the town of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory of Australia. This position supports efforts to be performed by Amentum including facilities Construction, Operation & Maintenance (O&M) and Support Services in an austere and remote location. Performance requires several unique functions given the isolated location of the Site which resides on a 4,400-acre facility which is self-sufficient and generates its own power and water. The contract supports Project Task Order (PTO) related efforts varying in complexity from minor/major system upgrades, renovations, to existing facilities, and new construction. The priority is to implement and maintain a successful O&M program to provide life, health and safety for site personnel, while ensuring continuous operations of the site infrastructure.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ US Citizen with active U.S government clearance - TS/SCI with polygraph.
+ A degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university, and hold Professional Engineer (PE) licensure as an Electrical Engineer
+ Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in medium and low voltage industrial power distribution.
+ Experience in design of medium and low voltage distribution.
+ Experience with high voltage distribution and frequency conversion equipment
+ Experience working in secured/restricted areas, data centers (power and cooling), performing configuration management activities, and knowledge of the Uptime Institute Tier configuration topologies
+ Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience with the concepts, design, and engineering of electrical power distribution from both power generation and public utility power to rack mounted equipment
+ A thorough understanding of SCADA systems and Building Management Systems.
