# Job Summary:
In this role, you will report to a Project Leader - New Runway.
You will supervise field engineers and collectively monitor contractor planning, safety, quality, construction, and workplace relations.
You will monitor that the contractor is compliant with project policies, procedures, site rules and procedures, and is performing within specifications and schedules.
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Ensure that the work by contractors is undertaken in a manner that addresses and eliminates personnel and environmental hazards, and ensure that risk analysis, health risk assessments, and work method statements, where required, are in place.
+ Ensures the contractor's field engineering program tools and deliverables meet contract requirements, and are consistent across assigned area.
+ Provides technical and program guidance and direction to Program teams for submittal and review process of contractor documentation, including inspection and test plans, and procedures and test reports for factory acceptance testing, component testing and system acceptance testing
+ Reviews the contractor's project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule.
+ Identification and resolution of program-wide technical or process issues related to field engineering.
+ Ensure the contractor is executing the contract in line with the terms & conditions set out.
# Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
# Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Demonstrated experience in the successful management of major projects in the infrastructure industry or avaiation projects.
+ Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved and current knowledge of new methods of design and construction.
+ Ability to influence and engage in a collaborative working environment with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining necessary levels of commercial awareness.
+ Prior delivery partner or client-side project management experience is preferred but not essential.
+ Proven ability to manage LV and HV electrical installations, including transformers, switchboards, and cabling
+ Proven ability to manage commissioning and testing of electrical systems
+ Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3017)
+ Familiarity with CASA regulations, airport safety protocols, and airside access procedures
+ Must have previous experience in the field installation or refurbishment of Air Ground Lighting (AGL) systems
+ Experience working in live environments, coordinating with operations and adhering to strict safety protocols
+ High Voltage Switching and CPR/LVR training

**Job Description**
Due to strategic growth and a strong project pipeline, we are looking for a Principal level Primary Systems Engineer to join our Energy Team. As a Principal Engineer you will lead the design and delivery of substation design, drive technical excellence across multi-disciplinary teams and contribute to some of the largest projects / programs of work across Australia's high-voltage energy network.
We're flexible on location, with the role open to candidates based in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, or Brisbane.
**How you'll make a difference:**
+ Provide technical leadership across HV/EHV substation design, including layouts, equipment ratings, earthing, insulation coordination, HV cables, and conduit designs, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and client requirements.
+ Work collaboratively across the Transmission & Distribution team, providing technical support and guidance to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered on time and on budget.
+ Lead project delivery from concept through detailed design, including specifications, calculations, fault level analysis, short circuit forces, and interfacing with other disciplines to resolve design issues.
+ Engage with key clients, contributing to one of the most ambitious transmission programs in decades, providing expert technical input and ensuring exceptional project delivery.
+ Drive innovation and knowledge sharing, applying advanced engineering software and techniques, mentoring team members, and promoting best-practice design standards.
**Qualifications**

Role and Responsibilities:



As an Electrical Engineer at Sigma Power Services, you will:



Conduct testing and commissioning of HV, EHV, and LV electrical networks.

Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.

Configure and test protection relays, including advanced protection and control relays.

Test and maintain circuit breakers and other critical electrical components.

Prepare and maintain detailed documentation and reports.

Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.

Participate in site works and provide premium services on location.

Develop and review primary and secondary electrical design requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:



Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Minimum 1 year post qualifications, relevant work experience required.
