The Opportunity:
KBR is expanding our Land Systems Division and seeking a Systems Engineer (Electrical) to support the Armoured Fighter Vehicle Branch.
This role offers the chance to work on some of Defence's most advanced land platforms - including the Boxer CRV, Redback IFV, and Abrams MBT - focusing on electrical systems integration, power distribution, sensors, vetronics, weapons and communications systems.
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a NV1 Clearance or above should apply.
Responsibilities:
+ Apply systems engineering practices across requirements, design, integration, and V&V.
+ Contribute to investigations, engineering reports, technical instructions, and change processes.
+ Support design reviews, configuration and risk management.
+ Assist in developing engineering and test plans to meet AEO and Defence certification standards.
+ Collaborate with Defence, industry, and suppliers to resolve technical challenges.
+ Provide guidance to junior engineers when required.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
+ Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems or Mechatronics Engineering.
+ Experience in systems engineering within Defence or complex engineering programs.
+ Knowledge of electrical/mission systems integration (power, sensors, comms, vetronics, weapons).
+ Familiarity with requirements management, V&V, configuration and risk management.
+ Understanding of ASDEFCON and Defence acquisition processes (desirable).
+ NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance (or ability to obtain).
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
+ Degree qualified in Engineering (Chartered status desirable)
+ Proven experience in systems architecture and integration within the Defence sector
+ Strong understanding of verification & validation, configuration management, and certification practices
+ Experience working under ASDEFCON frameworks (above or below the line)

Due to strategic growth and a strong project pipeline, we are looking for a Principal level Primary Systems Engineer to join our Energy Team, in Sydney. As a Principal Engineer you will lead the design and delivery of substation design, drive technical excellence across multi-disciplinary teams and contribute to some of the largest projects / programs of work across Australia's high-voltage energy network.

+ Provide technical leadership across HV/EHV substation design, including layouts, equipment ratings, earthing, insulation coordination, HV cables, and conduit designs, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and client requirements.
+ Work collaboratively across the Transmission & Distribution team, providing technical support and guidance to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered on time and on budget.
+ Lead project delivery from concept through detailed design, including specifications, calculations, fault level analysis, short circuit forces, and interfacing with other disciplines to resolve design issues.
+ Engage with key clients, contributing to one of the most ambitious transmission programs in decades, providing expert technical input and ensuring exceptional project delivery.
