**The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installing, maintaining, repairing, testing and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems used in the plant. The role involves working with production machinery, control panels, wiring and automation systems to ensure safe, efficient and uninterrupted operations. The role will troubleshoot faults, perform preventative maintenance, build and commission new equipment and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and production performance.**

**What will your typical day look like?**
**Manufacturing Support:**
**Perform preventative maintenance of electrical systems on building, installations and appliances.**
**Troubleshoot and resolve electrical breakdowns in a manufacturing environment and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.**
**To work closely with the mechanical maintenance fitters to assist in maintenance and breakdown tasks, identifying faults and causes, and assist in repair and recommissioning.**
**Work with the Production Supervisors and personnel to solve problems, identify necessary improvements and support with electrical knowledge/training as far as is appropriate.**
**Install, maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, including motors, control panels and PLC's.**
**Read and interpret electrical and electrical engineering schematics and technical drawings.**
**Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems.**
**Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, standards and safety regulations.**
**Collaborate with engineers and other trades to support production and facility upgrades.**
**Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used and compliance documentation.**
**Respond to emergency breakdowns and participate in on-call rotations as required.**
**Testing and Quality Assurance:**
**Routinely inspect factory equipment (Monthly Safety Inspections).**
**Perform tests of electrical systems, such as lead tagging and calibration testing, identify faults, and implementing corrections.**
**Conduct electrical testing of new installations to ensure correct function and electrical safety.**
**Collaboration and Training:**
**As a member of the Engineering Department, work with other the maintenance and production teams as required using electrical knowledge to assist in a broad range of activities.**
**Support the Engineering Manager with eyes on ground reporting.**
**Participate in collaborative projects, such as Lean events, by bringing electrical knowledge to aid with solutions and improvements as identified.**
**Participate in safety exercises such as risk assessments when required.**
**Design and Development:**
**Work with the Engineering Manager on improvements to the factory's electrical systems to meet future demand and capacity increases.**
**Obtain understanding of the factory's information and computer systems, such as PLC, SCADA and database interaction.**
**Using accumulated knowledge, assist the engineering team with designing and modifying equipment for manufacturing processes.**

About the role
We are seeking an experienced optical or Laser technician to join a specialist team, working on one of the organisation's key operational programs. Reporting to the Repair Facility Manager, our Technicians address the client's routine and ad-hoc maintenance requirements a suite of Night Fighting Equipment (NFE) products.
The primary remit of this role is to carry out assembly, calibration and preventative maintenance activities on precision optical test equipment. Your activities can include but not be limited to conducting technical inspections and level appropriate repairs to allocated units, supporting root cause failure analysis investigations, providing technical day-to-day support across the NFE product range, ensuring repair part stock levels are maintained and supporting quality control activities as directed by your lead.

Job Description
Based out of our Darwin branch in NT, you will complete preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on generators, engines or components at the customer sites.
**You will make an impact in the following ways:**
+ Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools
+ Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor
+ Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field
+ Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens
+ Completes training in line with skill and business requirements
+ Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
+ Train electrical apprentices in and out of the branch.
+ Coordinate jobs and responsibilities within the branch and delegate workload.
+ Understand relevant electrical certification required in country
+ Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation
+ Complete in workshop repairs as required
+ Engages with customer in a courteous and professional manner.
+ Ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs

**Power Generation Systems Knowledge -** Demonstrates knowledge of Cummins and industry standards by complying with all safe work procedures including Personal Protective Equipment to create a safe work environment; interprets and analyzes Power Generation system operation and integration (switch gear, power system controls, uninterruptable power supply, etc.) by applying tools, service publications (Cummins, Original Equipment Manufacturer) and taking measurements to efficiently and correctly diagnose and repair.
**Product Repair and Maintenance** - Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines, using required tools within standard repair time to ensure a quality repair; disassembles and assembles engines or power generators following guidelines, using required tools to ensure a clean and organized environment; inspects and replaces parts and components following re-use guidelines to minimize customers cost of ownership; performs progressive damage check following guidelines to restore to pre-failure condition.
**Service Documentation** - Creates and verifies customer, equipment and technical information; captures specific data using required service tools; follows procedures and documents required information in the service management system in order to have an accurate record of the work done.
**Technical Escalation** - Obtains product technical issue information and utilizes available resources including data management tools; elevates issues to a higher level of expertise, balancing timeliness of customer response with investigation efforts; captures all troubleshooting steps in the appropriate database in order to ensure seamless transitions and accurate response to ticket resolution in a timely manner.

**About the Role:**
As a CBRE Shift Data Center Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational integrity of our critical infrastructure. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a data center operation, ensuring the seamless operation of critical systems. Oversight of electrical and mechanical systems, including but not limited to: Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, generators, chillers, Electrical Distribution, HVAC systems, Building Management Systems (BMS) systems, and CMMS Work Dispatching. This position is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function, focusing on delivering technical maintenance services in high-stakes client environments.
**What You'll Do:**
+ Conduct daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Electrical Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance tasks.
+ Ensure that the site's environmental conditions are conducive to a safe and efficient work environment.
+ Respond promptly to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs as necessary.
+ Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
+ Notify management if subcontractor performance does not meet the requirements outlined in the Master Service Agreement.
+ Execute planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
+ Monitor the Building Management System for running and alarm conditions, addressing HVAC-related client issues.
+ Perform building walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities.
+ Address facility and plant faults and defects with effective solutions.
