About the role
This position will be responsible for supporting exciting new growth in production at the L3Harris Centre of Excellence for Electronic Warfare in Australia. The role will report to the Technician Team Leader and work in a team responsible for the manufacture, testing, tuning, integration and sustainment of EW components and systems using radio frequency (RF) and photonic technology.
What the role will involve
Some responsibilities of your role will include the following:
+ Completes manufacturing, testing, tuning and integration of electronic CCA's, modules and systems following methods, procedures, standards, and operations sequences.

The Field Technician will support programs during the Sustainment phase and will work to provide high levels of customer satisfaction, whilst maintaining contract compliance.
Based in Brisbane, you will provide technical support, local/remote repair/testing, training and Customer Service solutions to both L3Harris customers and other technical staff under Maintenance and Support programs. This role will require travel on a regular basis to ACT and will include other customers in all states of Australia on an as needed basis.
Working as part of the larger RSC (Regional Support Centre) team, this role will also provide support to the boarder CS (Communications Systems) segment, as directed by the Senior Maintenance Manager. This role would suit a highly skilled and experience senior support technician that can, work autonomously, make recommendations for process improvements and desire to support Public Safety and other mission critical government agencies.
Key Responsibilities:

About the role
DroneShield is seeking an Electronics Engineer with relevant experience to join the team in Sydney, Australia. The position will report to the Electronics Team lead in Embedded Systems.
The Embedded Systems Team is focused on providing fully operational and qualified modular devices to enable new product development of high-end RF based sensors and effectors. These modules are re-used across various product configurations including man-portable, vehicle mounted and fixed site. Key technical challenges for the electronics aspect of these modules include the design of complex wide-band RF circuitry, high speed digital interface and high-power radio frequency output. DroneShield designs and builds the full signal chain from signal generation to antenna.
Expectations of this role in the Electronics Team will be focused on PCBA design and validation of various modules, with an overall objective of providing confidence in product integrations and delivery to the customer. - Undertaking exciting technical maintenance to maintain and certify Guided Weapons including: maintenance, breakdown, repair, assembly, alignment, calibration, test, inspection and technical certification.
- Applying current technical data, publications and documentation to perform these technical activities within an explosive ordnance field.
- Operate within a high-compliance environment, adhering strictly to all safety, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.
- Accurately record maintenance activities in documentation and digital maintenance management systems.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other technical staff.
- Train and learn about Explosive Ordnance systems within a competency based training pathway providing opportunities for progression.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be eligible to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
- Must be willing to work shift patterns, including nights and weekends, as operationally required.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of a labour intensive position.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and undergo regular safety and medical assessments.
- Must be able to work at location to a standard working week, no work from home available.

+ Working closely with the CSC Senior Electrical Engineer, you will execute your duties in accordance with the prescribed company engineering processes, delivering documented technical outcomes that achieve the desired technical integrity and quality for the program.
+ Work with the Senior Electrical Engineer to support the VLF Transmitter Mission System, ensuring high availability operation and sustainment of over 1MW of triode vacuum tube amplifiers.
