**Description**
**About the role**
We are looking for a dynamic and commercially minded **Mechanical Engineering, Project Technical Lead** to join our Perth Buildings team. This is a full-time role that blends technical excellence with business development and client engagement.
As a senior member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in **driving project success, expanding client relationships, and assisting with business development opportunities** across a diverse portfolio of building projects. Your ability to lead from the front-both technically and commercially-will be key to your success.

**Day to day tasks would involve:**
+ **Lead client-facing project delivery** , ensuring high-quality outcomes and strong stakeholder satisfaction.
+ **Assist with business development initiatives** , identifying and pursuing new project opportunities and nurturing long-term client partnerships.
+ Manage internal design teams and oversee engineering assessments across complex, multi-client projects.
+ Represent Stantec in industry forums, client presentations, and strategic meetings to enhance our market presence.
+ Deliver technically sound and innovative Mechanical designs, reports, and specifications across sectors including health, defence, high-rise, industrial, and education.
+ Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ 10 years of experience
+ Proven experience in a design consultancy environment, with a strong track record of **client engagement and project leadership** .
+ Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages of delivery.
+ Strong technical knowledge in Mechanical Building Services including **Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)** design experience on building projects
+ A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for **building client relationships and assisting with growing business pipelines** .
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
+ A collaborative, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

The Apps and AI CSA team acts as trusted advisors and subject matter experts with core capability and expertise across Applications and AI with additional depth in Data Modernization, Analytics and AI. We work with customers to leverage data to help them achieve their business priorities and help guide customers' journey through Applications and AI-led Azure Data transformation. We also support customers in evaluating their applications and business requirements, recommend solutions that meet their requirements, and demonstrate these solutions to win the technical decision.
The Azure AI Infrastructure Solution Engineering APAC Lead is a leader within our enterprise sales organization, and you will be responsible for region-wide coordination of driving technical solutions to win over the technical decision maker in the Business and IT department of both our Enterprise and Digital Native Customers leveraging AI Infrastructure solutions. You and your team will drive technical decisions for the customer that helps them achieve Business value with the Microsoft Platform, and thereby secure long-term sustainable growth for Microsoft. As the Solution Engineer lead, you will play a key part in coordinating the team response across APAC and the broader Azure all-up team to help customers embrace and succeed through digital transformation with AI Infrastructure solutions.

**Responsibilities**
+ Regional Team Facilitator: You will deliver success by ensuring that a diverse and high-performing technology specialists' team helps APAC customers make sound technical decisions and maximize the adoption and value of Microsoft solutions.
+ Scale Customer Engagements: You will influence customer decisions and ensure technical wins by streamlining processes and managing the flow of wins, leveraging deep knowledge of processes, aligning goals across solution areas and facilitate cross-selling with various workloads (e.g., AI, Apps, Data & Analytics and Infrastructure).
+ Your practical experience will increase deal velocity by assessing the progress of technical engagements at every stage, and by orchestrating a cross-region response of other Microsoft technical resources and Partners on digital transformation deals.
+ Scale Through Partners: You will maximize area-level capacity and capabilities of scaling through partners by coaching account teams to grow partner network, identifying gaps and promoting Microsoft within the Microsoft ecosystem. You will raise escalations or alleviate blockers through collaboration with counterparts in cross-functional groups.
+ Build Strategy: You will help define compete strategy and provide support to internal teams and work with local marketing teams to shape corporate domain messages.
+ Solution Design and Proof: You will facilitate and guide customers through digital transformation solutions across Data, Analytics, and AI solutions and applying advanced sales methodologies, while envisioning new and innovative solutions that use Microsoft technology to meet customer needs and identifying new technical and business trends/needs serving as the voice of the customer (VOC) to Microsoft.
+ Education: You will enable and empower others to develop technical expertise and act as a technical thought leader by sharing best practices.

**Qualifications**
**Required**
+ Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related field AND 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical customer engagement experience.
+ OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 5+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years AI Infrastructure Sales and/or Solutions experience.
**Preferred**
+ 5+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience.
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 5+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
+ 5+ years of direct work experience with AI Infrastructure and AI workflows. (GPU host/server, networking, storage, & job/container orchestration.)
+ 3+ years project leader experience (including leading virtual teams).
**Optional**
**Professional**
+ Executive Presence. Leadership and confidence required to challenge customer status quo. Demonstrated experience and expertise selling to senior business decision makers by aligning & reinforcing the value of the solution to the customer's overall business pain and/or strategic opportunities and decision criteria.
+ Collaborative. Ability to orchestrate and influence virtual teams to pursue sales opportunities and lead v-teams through influence. Develop and execute a regional success plan in partnership with account teams and national GTM leads to support pre-sales opportunities and engage solution partners assigned to accounts.
+ Coaching. Training extended v-team in engagement management and capturing VOC for the product engineering feedback loop.
+ Trusted advisor. Deep understanding of key competitive technologies and/or specific industries. The ability to articulate the advantages of Microsoft technologies to C-Level and senior business decision makers. Execute a solution sales process that adds value to customers through commercial teaching to win the business and establish yourself as a trusted advisor.
**Technical**
+ Technical passion. Passion for and experience with AI infrastructure, supercomputing, and operating clusters at scale. preferred.
+ Common benchmarking standards (E.g., MLPerf) and their significance.
+ AI Frameworks, APIs, and computing/networking IP standards. (E.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, NCCL, CUDA, ROCm, ONNX, MPI, NVLink, etc.)
+ Platforms and architectures for scale-up and scale out training and inferencing workloads - inclusive of topology-aware job and container orchestration.
+ Understanding of cutting-edge AI Development methodologies and practices (E.g., Mixture-of-Experts, etc.) preferred.
+ Understanding day-to-day operational requirements and best practices of supercomputing-scale GPU-based supercomputing systems. (E.g., Dashboarding/observability, planned maintenance, etc.) preferred.
+ Competitive landscape. Knowledge of both established cloud platforms and newer GPU-focused bare metal AI clouds. preferred.
