The Opportunity:
L3Harris Communications Australia (L3HCA) Public Safety and Professional Communications Division (PSPC) Field Technician is responsible for providing quality technical outcomes across a growing PSPC customer base in Australasia.
The Field Technician will support programs during the Sustainment phase and will work to provide high levels of customer satisfaction, whilst maintaining contract compliance.
Based in Brisbane, you will provide technical support, local/remote repair/testing, training and Customer Service solutions to both L3Harris customers and other technical staff under Maintenance and Support programs. This role will require travel on a regular basis to ACT and will include other customers in all states of Australia on an as needed basis.
Working as part of the larger RSC (Regional Support Centre) team, this role will also provide support to the boarder CS (Communications Systems) segment, as directed by the Senior Maintenance Manager. Including the following sectors initially: TCOM (Tactical Communications) & SATCOM (Satellite Communications).
This role would suit a highly skilled and experience senior support technician that can, work autonomously, make recommendations for process improvements and desire to support Public Safety and other mission critical government agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Testing and remediation at localised levels for L3Harris supplied products;
+ Monitoring, tracking and controlling all assets between the customer and L3Harris Communications (Brisbane)
+ Conduct Preventative Maintenance Inspections of supplied radios.

Skills Required:

The role will take the lead of all technical aspects of realization of an Amazon Fulfillment Center (FC) while focusing on its automation technologies (conveyance, sortation, robotics) and storage solutions. This person will lead within the above-mentioned scope; translation of business requirements, concept design, procurement, planning, and execution of new state-of-the-art material handling systems or complex projects to upgrade the capacity or introduce new technology to our existing FCs. You will also lead end-to-end vendor development and engagement including but not limited to capacity planning and delivery of key Material Handling Equipment (MHE) supply chains for continued expansion of Amazon's fulfillment network. You will own the quality process and its adoption within an operations engineering business line, becoming the technical POC and supporting site activities.
This person is passionate about building capability and relationships, both external (supplier level) and internally with robust work processes to deliver high quality CAPEX projects safely, on time, on quality and within budget. The role will own Safety and make interventions accordingly. Safety is defined broadly and includes user ergonomics, environment and noise. This person is also responsible for providing accurate updates + risk management / reporting. This person focusses on identifying and delivering cost-saving opportunities while ensuring quality and optimum performance.
During execution, this person will often act as the main interface point for internal and external stakeholders. Internal functional teams such as Worldwide Design Engineering, RME, PMO, Central Planning, Construction, IT and Launch and external such as vendors and consultants. There is input from the early design stages and direct responsibility from building access, commissioning through handover to the Operations and Maintenance teams who lead the FC from Go-Live.
The senior PM will lead a multi-million greenfield project or major upgrades in a single FC or a program of upgrades across several FCs. The projects will have a significant business impact, and the PM should guide and mentor other team members. The senior PM will also be responsible for organizing and leading teams focusing on new technology introduction or current technology improvements (Subject Matter Expert teams), as well as generating value to the business with the introduction of new, leaner to the business processes.
For this experienced project manager role there is a high level of autonomy to manage the projects and an expectation to improve processes across projects. Lead cross-functional teams and interface with site general managers, supplier leadership teams and high-level stakeholders generally.
Amazon expects the Senior Engineering Project Manager to take a high level of ownership and autonomy in designing and realizing the solution of complex problems in a fast-paced environment across multiple regional and global teams. - Proven Project/Program Management experience in comparable industrial environments

We are looking for a highly motivated Network Engineering Manager to build world class, scalable and fully automated Datacenter Edge Networks. Amazon Web Services ( customers demand high performance and reliability. We are seeking an experienced Network Engineering Manager to lead a team of highly skilled Network engineers who design and fully automate next generation products deployed to AWS Datacenters globally.
You will be responsible for Network Edge products and their status which you will report to senior AWS leadership. You will be responsible for leading a team of 8-10 highly skilled Network Engineers with a focus on their development and career growth. Key job responsibilities
Operational Excellence
As a manager within the Networking team you will be expected to drive operational excellence in everything we do. This includes defining operationally safe processes, automation to improve efficiency in our day-to-day tasks and projects. You will work closely on supporting our internal customers and ensuring that their needs and issues are being addressed.
Technical Leadership
As a manager of a highly technical team, which has responsibility to build the Amazon global network, you will be expected to have a deep knowledge of your area. As part of your role, you will be required to review and approve network changes and processes for your team. Additionally, you will on occasion need to develop a detailed, low-level understanding of network issues that do occur and to be able to represent those issues at operational management review meetings.
Network Deployment
As a Network Engineering Manager, you are responsible to manage and coordinate resources to meet project milestones and build schedules for the design and deployment of network infrastructure into an AWS datacenters. This includes high level and low-level network designs, planning, deployment build schedules and proactively working across teams to remove any roadblock to meeting deadlines. Network Measurement As a Network Operations manager you will be expected to drive quality into the metrics we report to assist us in focusing on the areas that give us the best ROI. This includes measurement of defects, network capacity and cycle times with the objective to always improve.
Performance Management/Team Health
You will own all facets of performance and career development for your team. Regular one-on-one meetings with all team members are expected. You will be expected to provide both technical and 'soft skill' mentoring in order to maintain a well-rounded, world-class organization. About the team
DC Edge Fabric Engineering team own the network layers between Amazon DC network fabrics and security zones. We own network designs, operational processes, new product introductions and operating DC Edge networks. We work closely with AWS and internal service teams to create tailored network solutions, and own DC edge solutions between regional production networks.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years in a technology role and 4+ years in a management role and experience representing your team/technical area to senior management
- 4+ years experience in a large-scale enterprise environment is required with experience in either a Planning or Network Engineering role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of major networking protocols, topology design, network hardware and device configuration. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in delivering complex projects, including coordinating and driving issues to resolution autonomously utilizing excellent project management skills.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Must have the ability to contribute to and support long-term visions and direction regarding Networking at Amazon

- Installation of new rack capacity and provisioning of power/cooling
- On-site management of contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed, is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation
- Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses and prepare reports and documentation of all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance. Manage the facility's assets
- Generate change management requests & incident management tickets for all facility related events (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and assist in the resolution of infrastructure engineering and services issues
- Collaborate with data center IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate day to day operations, projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiency
- Drive & implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability & reliability as well as assist in the design implementation, commissioning and build out of new data center facilities.
A day in the life
No two days are the same in AWS data centres but, typically, your day will include:
- Attending operational meetings to foster awareness of important activities across the Melbourne data centre region
- Mentoring and development of less experienced engineering operations technicians
- Planning and scheduling of maintenance activities for critical infrastructure

We are looking for a Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician (EOT). Our EOT's are Amazon's front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchboards/switchgears, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems. They provide 24/7 shift coverage which could include 12 hour shifts, rotating shifts, 3, 4, or 5 day work weeks.
Key job responsibilities

- Manage the on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed, is observing established practices, procedures & local legislation.
- Work with other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimise plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability and efficiency.·

We are experiencing rapid growth, therefore your onboarding will be dynamic in nature, where you will gain diverse experience working in new and established AWS data centre's. These future Amazonians will rotate through various AWS locations to complete training as part of their onboarding to prepare for deployment in a data centre region. This training will be completed over a duration of 6-12 months. Once training is completed, individuals will be relocated to the permanent location.
Engineering Operations Technicians support the data centre building and the critical equipment that keeps it running. This includes diesel power generators, HVAC and fire suppression systems. They're responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the critical infrastructure, supervising specialist vendors, acting as first responders to incidents, and becoming subject matter experts for the facility.

Basic Qualifications
- Degree or technical certification (Military or Trade school)
- Mechanical/HVAC/Electrical engineering or experience at technician level in a critical environment
