Job DescriptionEaton Building Materials are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Wood Machinist to join their team in Forestville NSW. The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
- Analysing drawings, work orders, and sample parts to establish specifications.
Assessing tooling and machine necessities and determining the sequence of operations.
- Arranging woodworking machines and wood stock for accurate cutting, planning, turning, shaping, and sanding.
- Eliminating previous finishes by utilizing steel wool and glasspaper for stripping, as well as applying solvents and paint strippers.
Scraping off softened finishes.
- Assembling and securing frame pieces, and mounting backing materials and subjects for framing.
- Utilizing machines to cut, plane, turn, shape, and sand workpieces.
Applying varnish, shellac, lacquer, stains, and paint to surfaces. Polishing and waxing finished surfaces. Skills and Abilities:
- Ideally have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a qualified Wood Machinist or equivalent
- A Certificate in Wood Machining or relevant
- Ability to work in a team environment

This position is responsible to and works in collaboration with the relevant Learning Leader and Curriculum Leader.
Skills and experienceApplicants to the position should be able to demonstrate:
- Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.
- A proven commitment to Catholic education and faith development
- An understanding and acceptance of the College ethos
- The capacity to provide leadership that is characterised by a commitment to learning and teaching, continuous improvement and innovation
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with people at all levels and from varying backgrounds

- An excellent understanding of the Victorian Curriculum
