What You'll DoIn the role of Equipment Operator, your duties will include:
+ Receive and Follow Directions: Report to the Foreman or General Foreman to receive daily assignments, instructions, and directions.
+ Operate Equipment: Safely operate designated machinery and equipment, which may include a bus, semi-truck, skid steer, warehouse forklifts, front-end loader, bulldozer, motor grader, K-Loader, scraper, roller, or tractor.
+ Maintain Safety Standards: Strictly adhere to all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
+ Perform Routine Checks: Conduct pre-operation checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly before use.
+ Report Equipment Issues: Promptly report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to ensure equipment is always in good operating condition.
+ Document Operations: Keep accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and any incidents to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
+ Adapt to Various Duties: Be flexible and ready to perform various other duties and activities as directed by the Foreman or General Foreman.
+ Ensure Cleanliness and Order: Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the equipment and the surrounding work area to promote safety and efficiency.
+ Participate in Training: Engage in ongoing training and certifications as required to stay updated on safety protocols and equipment operation standards.
+ Assist in Site Preparation and Cleanup: Help prepare and clean up sites before and after operations to ensure that workspaces are organized and safe.
+ Other duties as required.
Requirements:
+ Must have a US Secret or an Australian NV-1 clearance.
+ Experience in Equipment Operation: Prior experience operating the relevant types of light and/or heavy machinery, typically at least 2-5 years, depending on the complexity of the equipment.
+ Maintenance Knowledge: Understanding of basic maintenance and troubleshooting for the equipment operated.
+ Certified Equipment Operator: Certification for specific equipment (such as forklift, frontend loader, or other heavy machinery) is required.
Desired Qualifications:
+ Commercial Driver's License (CDL): Required for operating larger vehicles such as buses and semi-trucks, depending on job requirements.
This role will be located in Alice Springs, at a 4,400-acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.

Whilst this role is based at our Braeside site, you will be responsible for managing the daily activities of the Braeside and Bendigo Service Centres in Victoria. You will be responsible for providing leadership, and guidance to the teams for them to provide exceptional technical support and customer service to our valued clients. Reporting to the National Service Manager, you will collaborate with other key stakeholders across the organisation to ensure the highest level of service quality and safety is maintained at all times.
What will you do?
·Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the service centers which include repairs, maintenance, new equipment builds and management of staff in accordance with established systems and procedures
·Monitor all work in progress to ensure all work performed by the service center is of a satisfactory standard.
·Provide ongoing leadership and training for service technicians.
+ Schedule and perform repairs and maintenance of major systems as and when required, such as diesel and gasoline fueled engines, hydrostatic transmissions or hydraulic systems.
+ Schedule and perform testing of equipment using appropriate diagnostic tools required, in accordance with product service manual's diagnostic and test procedures as and when required.
+ Prepare detailed service and failure records
+ Order parts and invoice for all work performance in accordance with company systems and procedures
+ Establish and maintain good working relationships with Equipment Product Dealers in accordance with the Service Dealer Protocol

+ Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including parts breakdown drawings and simple electrical schematics
+ A valid Australian Motor Vehicle Licence

+ Overhaul, repair and test all products in accordance with the relevant drawings, task instructions, HSE requirements, Quality requirements, and test specifications/procedures;

+ Promptly advise the Lead Service Technician of the non-conformance of any components, tooling or equipment considered to be unsuitable for assembly and/or service;
+ Recommend to the Lead Service Technician via a design change request form, product design changes if these are thought to improve quality or performance of the product;
+ Ensure that all customer goods, inventory stock, tooling and equipment are identified appropriately, and any expiration and/or service dates are compliant; initiating escalation where necessary;
+ Ensure the working environment is maintained in a clean and safe condition at all times;
+ Clean and maintain tooling, plant and equipment as required to ensure proper and safe functioning;
+ Devote and develop the best available skills to the interests and business of the Company to promote an image of professionalism, efficiency and courtesy to Customers, suppliers and other business associates, and other employees of the Company;
+ Actively participate towards the achievement of Branch performance goals, delivery timeframes and customer satisfaction;
+ Actively participate in team meetings;

What Do You Need?

Xylem is in the market for a **Service Technician** with a trade background as a Fitter, Mechanic, Electrician, or similar to work in our **Mt Isa** workshop. We welcome all candidates as diversity is one of the most critical drivers of progress. You would be part of a team that will assist and repair Xylem equipment.
Trades People will have a trade qualification, and Trades Assists a mechanical mindset; and a willingness to learn, live by our "Accept Only Zero" safety culture, and be a team player.
The role:
+ Complete routine & emergency assessment and service/repair on our pumps and rental fleet across our leading brands in our service workshop.
+ Clean, strip, and overhaul customer pump sets and products.
+ Read, interpret, and retain, instructions and technical drawings.
+ Inspect and test products before dispatch.
+ Provide timely and accurate advice and support to employees and customers on service, workshop, and product-related issues both orally and in writing.
+ Maintain all relevant documentation and reports for work undertaken.
About you:
+ Strong mechanical aptitude, and interest in developing your skills.
+ Role would suit people from fitter and turner, mech fitter, mechanic, small engine mechanic, or electrical trades.
+ Great attention to detail and time management skills.
+ Must be a good communicator with a great attitude.
