# Project Overview:
The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village.
The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah Riyadh highway.
# Job Summary:
In this role, you will plan develop and review mechanical design work, produce technical drawings, calculations, specifications and material take-offs for a project's mechanical design, procurement and constructability aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions and design reviews, review vendor information, project and client design specifications and collaborating discipline design inputs. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure mechanical designs comply with all regulations and standards.
Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project's mechanical aspects are met.
_This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership._
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Evaluates, selects, and applies standard mechanical engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria for a small size project or assignment in support of a global business unitor staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications
+ Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
+ Perform design of mechanical systems for materials handling including crushers, screens, conveyors, and pumps.
+ Perform calculations and preliminary analysis leading to technical design recommendations.
+ Preparation of material requisitions, specifications, and other procurement related documents
+ Coordinate with mechanical designers to produce layouts for crushing plants, screening plants, conveyors, and pump stations.
+ Experience in chute design methods, both continuum and discrete element modelling would be beneficial.
+ Evaluates, selects, and applies standard mechanical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications
+ Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals
+ Prepares or assists in preparation of detailed design drawings, calculations, reports or proposals
+ Coordinates mechanical engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups
+ Provides technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues
+ Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project mechanical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution
+ Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability
# Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience
# Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Experience with minerals handling process plant design, specifically slurry pumping and handling, conveyor, chute, tank sizing and selection calculations.
+ Experience with Bid Evaluate Award processes, specifically equipment datasheet, specification, material requisition and technical bid evaluation of vendor equipment
+ Computer skills including competence in MS Office suite and other common software
+ Flexibility and enthusiasm for individual and team tasks and proven experience working in a dynamic multi-discipline team environment
+ Analytical problem-solving capabilities
+ Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication

We are seeking a person with skills and experience in engineering of naval ship Mechanical Engineering and auxiliary systems, to provide technical advice on concept designs for these systems in an acquisition office.
The position will include the following responsibilities:
+ Assess and advise on key mechanical system capability, and technical risks;
+ Support the review of technical deliverables from the project's Head Contractor;
+ Review system documentation, operating procedures, schematics and design calculations, applying mechanical system engineering principles, techniques, procedures and criteria for naval ship designs;
+ Engagement with the combat system delivery participants to address provision of combat system platform support requirements, and establishment of the associated mechanical interfaces;
+ Assess and advise on suitability of system characteristics including performance, Contribute to safety and supportability aspects of the program.
+ Review and provide guidance on compliance with classification society rule sets and codes;
+ Mentor and share experience and lessons with project team personnel to advance mechanical engineering skills and knowledge within the project's technical team.
**Qualifications**
The position requires the following high-level attributes:
+ Degree-qualified mechanical or marine systems engineer with strong knowledge and experience in marine mechanical systems
+ Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and decision authorities and explain complex positions and issues in a concise manner
+ A demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and share experience and lessons with the project team membership to build mechanical engineering skills and abilities in the project team
+ An ability to influence thinking and advocate for the Project team's interests across multiple program stakeholders with divergent interests
+ An ability to rapidly assimilate information and describe viable concepts for solutions
+ A positive, solutions-orientated attitude
The position requires the following high-level knowledge and understanding:
+ Strong knowledge and experience in naval ship mechanical systems
+ Experience in design and specification of marine mechanical and auxiliary systems, including cooling systems
+ Understanding of systems engineering process - from specification writing, requirement analysis and traceability through to system level design/interface, and requirements management.
Knowledge and understanding of the following aspects will be an advantage:
+ Understanding of propulsion, fire-fighting and other auxiliary systems
+ Professional Engineering Credential (in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering or other applicable discipline)
+ Experience with verification, validation and set to work and commissioning activities
