As an Amazon Field Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You will be the 'go to' engineering resource for your region when technical advice is needed, and will use your subject matter expertise and engage with diverse teams to:
- Perform design and equipment submittal review for new Data Centers in your region.
- Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures.
- Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including critical equipment, and event support.
- Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions, which add capacity, improve availability, increase efficiency and sustainability.
- Interface with internal data center operations team, data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers.
- Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits including on-site visits within Amazon's data centers. Produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediation.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction projects. Support construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 6+ cumulative years of experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, oil / gas facilities. (Experienced Engineer)
- Basic understanding of both mechanical and/or electrical equipment/design related to data centers
- EPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls system experience (software and/or hardware) and liquid Cooling experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using a variety of web based and other software tools for calculation and data processing
- Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers
- Experience as resident engineer or hands-on (in the field) design consultant or owner's engineer
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

**Job Description**
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external customers while driving customer satisfaction through Service Excellence. Installing and maintaining electronic equipment in Imaging modalities. This role is servicing the Wollongong, Illawarra & South Coast NSW region.
**Essential Responsibilities**
+ Install equipment in a high quality, professional manner with strong attention to detail in accordance with the company standards, compliance standards and customer requirements.
+ Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with company standards, compliance standards and customer requirements.
+ Make corrective repair calls in a timely manner, aligned with customer contract requirements and repair the equipment in accordance with company standards and directives and customer requirements.
+ Ensure timely completion of Field Modification Instructions (FMI's).
+ Advise management when response time objectives cannot be met i.e. If there are two site visits in relation to the same problem, inform Senior Field Engineer (SFE).
+ The Field Service Engineer retains ownership of the problem until it is resolved.
+ The Field Service Engineer must keep the customer, SFE, and Service Delivery Manager (SDM) informed on progress.
+ Keep management and commercial account managers fully aware of all developments in the installed base.

**Healthcare Sector Australia - Vaccine for Preventable Diseases**
+ Depending on location, some States have mandated or are intending to mandate that contractors who enter healthcare sites must be able to provide evidence of vaccination for vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs) prior to working at their premises.
+ GE Healthcare does have an EHS Medical Services Program. We have an immunisation and vaccination program covering any GE Healthcare employee who is required to enter a site and conduct work where there is the likelihood of potential exposure or acquisition through respiratory means to VPDs.
+ To ensure your risk is minimised, you may be required to provide evidence of immunity /vaccination prior to commencing with GE Healthcare in such locations where it has been mandated. 1. To ensure new and aftermarket Howden products in the field are installed, operate and are maintained to Howden standards and client requirements.

Accountabilities
Balancing and Alignment
o Visit sites to undertake onsite balancing and/or laser alignment, identify the cause of the problem,
rectify on site if possible or advise further action to be taken ensuring customer production losses are

1. Servicing
o Undertake servicing in terms of customer planned maintenance contracts, check equipment, carry out required maintenance and produce a report of work done in order to comply with the Service Level Agreement.
2. Commissioning of New Installations
o Supervision of new install product including HV compressors.
o Check the installation and alignment of equipment. Start machinery, check vibrations and temperatures and run the fan for a test period.
o Complete a Commissioning Report including checksheets and a Completion Certificate for contract closures.
o Ensure the machine is ready for full production service.
3. Site/Project Management
o Manage contract staff, liaise with client representative/s, budget management, maintain schedules including progress reports, OHSE management, quality control management, equipment management and accommodation management to ensure acceptable results for Howden and the Clients.
4. Troubleshooting
o Carry out detailed machinery analysis, interpret results and liaise with Howden engineering department on how to most efficiently resolve customer problems.
5. Aftermarket Sales Support
o Survey and Reporting
o Site visits with design Engineers
6. Legal, Health and Safety
o Take all reasonable care for own personal health and safety, as well as for that of everyone who may be affected by your action in your workplace.
