The Woomera Test Range, located in South Australia, is the world's largest overland test environment, comparable to the size of England, and is one of Australia's most critical national security assets.

As one of the teams technical workforce, you will contribute to the success of the WTRSS Program through providing specialty maintenance, deployment and operating functions on a variety of different leading-edge equipment.
The Field Technicians are responsible for conducting planned and corrective maintenance, technical investigations, and support configuration change activities of communication and mission systems to ensure the continued provision of services to the customer. As a Field Technician you will also support deployment of Mission System Equipment in support of trial activities.

**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Provision of specialist maintenance services to telemetry and communications equipment. This includes light grade and heavy grade maintenance as defined by the equipment maintenance processes.
+ Deployment and operation of Instrumentation Trailers across the Woomera Test Range in support of defence trials.
+ Producing maintenance reports, meeting key performance indicators for technical compliance and contributing to system health indicators for production and program management.
+ Provision of configuration management support to selected mission systems.
+ Provision of support activities for breakdown spares, repairable items, and support and test equipment.
+ Providing technical support in the conduct of engineering and maintenance services and activities for the customer.
+ The role requires regular travel both within Australia and internationally, including approximately 24 weeks of instrumented testing per year at Woomera Test Range with typical deployments lasting between 1 to 3 weeks.
**Skills, Experience and Qualifications:**
+ Requires a Certificate III in Electronics or Telecommunications.
+ Minimum of 3 years relevant post-qualification experience required.
+ A demonstrated understanding of and experience in the application of radio frequency and communication equipment.
+ A demonstrated understanding of and experience in electrical and data interface standards and protocols.
+ A demonstrated understanding of and experience in operating systems/server systems/network protocols.

Reporting to the Service Manager, Equipment, this role will be responsible for the mechanical work involved in repair, maintenance and servicing of turf maintenance related equipment within a nominated region in support of a wider national network.

The Field Service Technician role is responsible for attending to customer premises to carry out servicing, inspections, breakdown support and repairs to access equipment including elevating work platforms, lighting towers and telehandlers.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

+ Carry out inspections, servicing and repairs of equipment with a focus on elevating work platforms, telehandlers and lighting towers. May work with other types of equipment on occasion such as hydraulic hoses, small diesel engines, etc
+ When attending to customer's sites make every effort to repair machines on site limiting the need to transport the machines off site
+ Be available to travel including overnight accommodation when requested
+ Responsible for completing all appropriate paperwork and inspection forms required by JLG policy, ANZ Standards and customer and/or site requirements in a timely manner
+ Responsible for notifying the Field Service Coordinator if repairs or services can't be completed during visit and the reason why, where required providing information for the ability to provide the customer a quote
+ Providing a superior level of customer service
+ Liaising with technical support including the interpretation of manuals where required
+ Conduct van audits and stock takes
+ General administrative duties relevant to the role including entering accurate job notes
+ Generating sales and service leads where possible and collaborating with the team
+ Maintain personal retail labour utilization rates as per target
+ Be able to contact or visit customer sites to generate additional service work as required and in consultation with the Field Service Coordinator.
+ As a Field Service Technician, you are also required to carry out general duties from time to time as requested by management
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Previous experience in a similar role - experience with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical advantageous
+ Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal
+ Ability to establish rapport with internal and external customers
+ Drivers licence
+ Proficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy including the ability to write job notes, read safety information, machine manuals and street signs and understand basic numeracy such as time, parts numbers and quantities
+ Ability to travel 25%
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Trade qualification in elevating work platform technology, heavy vehicle, diesel, automotive, auto electrical or related field

As a Senior Field Service Technician you will be responsible is to service Woodford Correctional Center with a focus on maintaining high level hardware/software and network assets including network switches, routers, time servers, servers, RAID systems, workstations, EBI, DVM, VMD, Biometrics, IP Intercoms, IP Cameras, NVR's, DAR's and DVR's on QCS sites, to maximise customer satisfaction and minimise customer site downtime by providing exceptional technical support.
+ Service and maintenance of Honeywell and third party equipment (as per trade expertise)
+ Day to day servicing, calibrations and maintenance.
+ Configuration of Security systems hardware and software
+ Diagnoses Fault and repairs on Security Head end systems
+ Software load and Configuration of EBI / DVM Systems.
+ Small to Medium project installations including managing Subcontractors.
+ Estimates materials costs and quantities and ordering parts
+ Financial control according to previously agreed budgets and plans
+ Ensuring customer satisfaction through direct liaison with client representatives, customers and service recipients
+ Development and maintenance of site-specific documentation and quality assurance information as instructed by Team Leader
+ Achievement, measurement and reporting of performance indicators and site service objectives
+ Availability for and performance of duties outside of normal working hours as per agreed rosters and as directed
+ Electrical or Electronics Associate Diploma or higher an Advantage
+ Fault finding and repairs to Electronic equipment
+ Experience with Honeywell control systems and EBI products in Security, Fire and HVAC applications is an advantage.
+ Experience with management, repair and maintenance of IT systems including hardware and software
+ QLD Security provider and Installer License
+ QLD Corrections Yellow Card and relevant Security Clearence
+ Commitment to customer satisfaction
+ Good communication - both verbal and written and negotiation skills
+ Self-motivated and the ability to work independently without supervision
+ The ability to work under pressure.
+ A strong commitment to safety and a safe working environment.
