**About the role**
Start your journey with the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa as a  **Commis Chef**  to help our passionate kitchen team to create mouth-watering food for our guests. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, you will form a key part of a team who are responsible for providing high quality product to our luxury guests. We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Commis Chef to join our fast paced and dynamic Kitchen operation.
**Critical responsibilities:**
Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the Chef to ensure optimum services
Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food
Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to be served
Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are served
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing
Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
Wash and disinfect kitchen area including tables, tools, knives, and equipment
Prepare and cook food.
Set-up, clean and break down work station

**What You Bring To The Table**
+ Minimum of 5 years experience in the HR function, with a strong understanding of HR Information Systems (ideally Workday) and basic employment law.
+ Strong computer skills with proficient knowledge of Google G Suite (Slides, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, and Mail), Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other software, as needed.
+ Must be able to plan, organize, work independently, and complete assignments promptly and with little oversight; demonstrated professionalism and attention to detail.
