This role is with KBR's Government Solutions U.S. division. This project will provide the Customer's facilities and outlying buildings with services necessary to ensure optimal performance and utilization of the facility infrastructure, including, but not limited to, Operation & Maintenance (O&M), recapitalization, renovations, design, construction, records management, repairs to correct identified deficiencies or adverse impacts to operational capabilities, and improvements leveraging innovative and technological solutions.
Who You Are
As the Logistics/Transportation Manager you are a key leadership figure within our management team. Your role is crucial in supervising a multifaceted supply chain network that spans procurement, inventory management, material coordination, as well as the logistics of shipping and receiving. Your oversight ensures the precise execution of repair and return processes, the meticulous management of electronic waste, and the efficient conduct of transportation operations. Your expertise and management acumen uphold the integrity and effectiveness of our logistics services.
Your strategic approach to warehouse operations and transportation management aligns with current business requirements, driving the completion of critical tasks and establishing robust processes that serve as the foundation for sustainable logistics success. Your proactive management style includes the sourcing of necessary resources and providing expert technical management, which resonates with our standards of excellence across all service domains.
This role will be located in Alice Springs, Australia at a 4,400-acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space. The Logistics/Transportation Manager will be expected to travel between our facilities in Alice Springs and the local area. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.
What You'll Do
In your pivotal role as the Logistics/Transportation Manager, you will:
+ Ensure all supply chain management functions operate within an approved material management program which involves control and accountability of materials from requirements through purchasing, storage, issue and disposal
+ Perform relocation and movement of equipment, supplies, materials, appliances, furniture, and systems in accordance with US Government and Host Nation regulations
+ Assist in the collection, packing and shipping of any digital/magnetic media in accordance with applicable security and facility regulations
+ Establish and maintain an Electrostatic Discharge Controls Program to ensure the safety of material and personnel
+ A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with SAP, showcasing your ability to integrate technology effectively into logistics processes
+ Maintain and operate the vehicle program in accordance with all applicable US Government and Host Nation regulations
+ Steer warehouse operations to ensure timely fulfillment of all contractual obligations
+ Craft and execute strategic plans for warehousing, setting the course for long-term logistical sustainment
+ Innovate and implement policies and procedures to promote a safe and efficient work environment
+ Cultivate and maintain robust partnerships with stakeholders, including customers, partners, and your team, fostering a collaborative atmosphere conducive to success
+ Authorize and guide technical solutions, products, and processes, ensuring they meet KBR's high standards and client expectations
+ Spearhead the strategic direction, seamless coordination, and effective management of tasks related to the logistics functions, encompassing pivotal areas such as loading dock management, supply chain management, warehouse management, vehicle management, transportation management, and property management
+ Provide sufficient information to calculate the cost of services
+ Exercise quality control and standardize best practices to ensure consistent performance
+ Serve as the central point of contact for logistics related work, responsible for managing both the O&M logistical and mission logistics operations
Requirements
+ Possess an active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance with adjudicated polygraph or Host Nation PV Clearance
+ A solid background in logistics and transportation management, with a minimum of five (5) years' experience leading large-scale and similar-scope operations
+ Proven experience in warehouse operations management, managing procurement programs, asset management, and transportation areas with at least 5 years of shaping efficient, responsive services
+ A minimum of two (2) consecutive years of supervisory experience in logistics operations or transportation operations
+ Knowledge of process improvement models (e.g. LEAN/Six Sigma, ISO 9000)
+ Familiarity with Government Property control/management
+ Familiarity with 24/7 operational environment

- Own the transportation operations management (TOM) field operations and projects for multiple regions within Australia,

- Lead a team of TOM Area Managers across different regions, including regular coaching and development sessions and directing the team as needed during the work day,
- Launch the TOM function to cover new site launches in Australia by collaborating with launch teams, cross-function teams to setup TOM,
- Set and clarify requirements and expectations with the functional leaders with on-site Operations, support functions, and regional leaders,
- Install a performance culture, instill ownership and create a high-performing team,
- Collaborate with Senior Ops and TOM leadership team manage on quality and Customer Experience metrics, including the root cause analysis of problem areas and reporting to ATS country manager,
- Drive creation of safety and quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to meet and exceed the business plans,

About the team
TOM team focuses on managing the yard activities in the AU sites. This team is the interface between sites and the Supply Chain/Trans organizations. You will be responsible for developing and improving the yard management activities for a set of sites AU region. You will own all operations, performance, and people development targets across AU sites. Besides being responsible for all site yard operations on your own you will be managing a team of regional operations manager, coaching and mentoring this team to ensure performance objectives are met and building a positive employee relation to deliver quality results.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience,

Preferred Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field,
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating project results to senior leadership,
- Experience in Six Sigma/ Lean analytical techniques,
- Experience in supply chain management and transportation concepts: forecasting, planning, optimization, logistics, delivery performance, carrier negotiation, inventory management, S&OP.

Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Can push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts
- Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean methodology techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.

Amazon is seeking a Senior Program Manager - Linehaul Execution to lead critical initiatives within our growing Transportation Services team.
As a Senior Program Manager you'll play an instrumental role in coordinating across multiple business units while ensuring operational excellence during peak periods and through organizational changes. This role requires an ambitious individual. This leader will represent a critical function within our wider Amazon Transportation Operations, as we work to continuously improve the service levels, capacities and costs of the Amazon Australia Linehaul.
The ideal candidate will be a natural self-starter who is comfortable supporting both daily operational activities and large, complex and cross-functional strategic projects. This person will have a curious mind-set, solid analytical abilities, as well as superior written and verbal communication skills.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Continual, operational/tactical management and communication with external customers (linehaul service providers) and internal customers (Carrier Managers, Fulfillment Centers, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Amazon Logistics),
- Identify and develop appropriate performance metrics for each program and ensure consistent measurement and accountability. Pulling data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and performing ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed. Create new and track existing metrics to detect & remove any defects,
- Systematically escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure they are delivered,
- Continuous Improvement Management within linehaul operations, focused on developing optimize procedures, processes, and best practices,
- Uses expertise and judgment to select stakeholders to determine the right goals, inform decisions, and design long-term solutions for Transportation network operations,
- Analyzing existing trucking capacity versus forecasted capacity requirements, particularly with the view of supporting seasonal peak times of year. Working to develop medium to long term capacity in planning cycles,
- Analyze and improve network design in partnership with Supply Chain teams to meet best in class cost and customer experience results,
- Design short/medium-term solutions to improve performance and quality of the operations,
- Ensure right business metrics are prepared for and participate in regular Operations calls, business reviews, MBRs, etc. Participate in the preparation of strategic documents of ATS area.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience,
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership,
- 3+ years of linehaul transportation or freight operations experience, including knowledge of transportation networks and logistics optimization,
- Proficiency in advanced Gen AI use, MS Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.), SQL, and Tableau,
- Ability to prepare, report and interpret large sets of data,
- Great communication skills in English, both verbal and written at varying levels of seniority within an organization-with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills,
- Good organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience managing linehaul carrier relationships and network optimization projects,
- Bachelors/Master's degree or MBA in business, operations, or related field.

+ To make all suitable + relevant arrangements for shipment handling independently (not limited to heavy lift and oversized cargo) via air, sea, barge, charters etc. ensuring key performance indicators are met.
+ To ensure an accurate level of data quality, ensuring that all systems are kept up to date promptly.
+ To ensure accurate + timely production of relevant documentation (including but not limited to import/export declarations, customs clearance, MES declarations).
+ To prepare spot quotations, data for tender documents + actively participate in commercial support.
+ To complete all tasks + administration relating to local services such as trucking, warehousing services including full hub operations, cargo surveys etc. where applicable.
+ To complete all required file administration including documentation, billing, and vendor invoices/ebills acknowledgement + weekly forwarding sub-ledger (FSL).
+ To take appropriate corrective action +/or notify relevant person + office to prevent a re-occurrence of customer complaints.
+ To report incidents + hazards as per the relevant working instructions.
