Solar Turbines is currently looking for a Overhaul Technician (Gas Turbine) in our Rowville office.
This intermediate level position is responsible for operating, planning, and conducting preventive/corrective maintenance on gas turbine generating, compression, and ancillary equipment.
**Nature and Scope:**
+ Reports to direct contract management.
+ Starts and stops, monitors, and adjusts equipment.
+ Communicates and documents status and condition of equipment.
+ Performs Basic and INTERMEDIATE independent maintenance activities and assists with advanced and major maintenance activities.
+ Performs analysis and troubleshooting on equipment as required. Supports and assists with planned maintenance scheduling, materials, and resources.
+ Perform upkeep and housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
+ Perform other duties and administrative tasks as assigned by direct management or supervisors.
**Principal Accountabilities:**
+ Understand and comply with Solar and/or Customer company policies and directives.
+ Understand and comply with Solar and/or Customer HSE policies and directives. Report any accidents or incidents, near misses, or safety observations in a timely manner.
+ Work permit understanding and compliance. Conducting and participation in general safety meetings and toolbox (Tailgate) safety briefings including Workplace Hazard and Task Risk Assessment reviews. Submit safety suggestions identified as appropriate.
+ Maximize availability/reliability of equipment under the scope of the contract without compromising safety.
+ Responsible for the documentation of: Daily work logs, operations and maintenance activities, parts usage, and inventory consumption.
+ Provides input into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for maintenance history or equivalent tracking and historical document retention system.
+ Effective communication and initiates notification process, initiates immediate investigation/inspection of equipment failure or abnormal operating limits and/or conditions without compromising safety.
+ Initiates Root Cause Analysis process for failure or malfunctioning equipment cause and resolution.
+ Performs and/or supports immediate analysis and repair actions to resolve equipment deviation identified as "out of limits" or abnormal conditions.
+ Primary position for intermediate mechanical maintenance and electrical testing isolation tasks.
+ Perform qualified" Authorized Employee" tasks or specific administrative tasks as assigned by supervisor or direct manager. Including Primary coordinator responsibility assignments.
**Competencies/Qualifications:**
+ Minimum educational requirement - High School diploma or equivalent
+ 3-5 years related industrial experience, formal certification, military exp. or equivalent.
+ Meets physical requirements for position.
+ Complete and maintain required safety training & "Authorized Employee" qualifications.
+ Complete and maintain required technical training and qualifications.
+ Possess intermediate computer skills.

This opportunity will give you autonomy and challenge you to do what you do best on a variety of projects. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to continue to develop your technical and leadership skills.

You will be responsible for systems repair and maintenance including:
Experience in small commercial installation with an ability to read and follow plans
Preventative and routine maintenance
Commissioning installation, overhaul, fault finding and servicing of mechanical services
Maintaining a wide range of equipment from package units through to chillers and central plant
Exposure to Johnson Controls’ Building Management Systems
Quoting small works and site management
About you:
Experience with chillers and commercial air conditioning
Refrigeration or Electrical with HVAC experience
Relevant trade qualification
Restricted Electrical License
Current driver’s License

Do you want to gain experience with Chillers?
Due to continued growth in our company, we are looking for a motivated HVAC Technician (Refrigeration or Electrical trade) to join the team in our Mackay branch.
This opportunity will give you autonomy and challenge you to do what you do best on a variety of sites. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to continue to develop your technical and leadership skills.
You will be responsible for systems repair and maintenance including:
Experience in small commercial installation with an ability to read and follow plans.
Preventative and routine maintenance.
Commissioning installation, overhaul, fault finding and servicing of mechanical services.
Maintaining a wide range of equipment from package units through to chillers and central plant.
Exposure to Johnson Controls’ Building Management Systems.
Quoting small works and site management.
