- Provide high standard GP assessments of persons experiencing physical and mental health issues.
- Liaise and work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Create Mental Health Care Plans for internal referrals, Psychiatrist and Allied Health Services.
- Provide high quality, primary health care services to those accessing headspace
- Respond to medical/health concerns presented by patients including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate.
- Encourage and support young people to engage with sexual health and drug and alcohol services as well as preventative health care.
- Have access to Clinical Supervision from our Clinical Manager.
- Be fully supported by our administration team.

What You'll DoIn the role of General Practitioner, your duties will include:
+ Provides medical services comparable to such services and coverage as provided by the USG Facility Medical Officer (FMO) during clinic hours of operation and "after hours" coverage, as necessary.
+ Obtain health history and perform physical examinations.
+ Diagnose and direct counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment.
+ Prescribe medication in accordance with state statute and professional practice guidelines.
+ Maintains a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with established Health Information Management policies and procedures.
+ Assures continuity of care by providing comprehensive medical services on a timely basis.
+ Provides excellent internal/external customer service to assist patients with their health care needs.
+ Arrange referrals for patients requiring services not offered on-site.
+ Review incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) sign, date and follow-up in a timely manner.
+ Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
+ Assist in outside medical public relations functions.
Requirements:
+ Must be a US or Australian citizen
+ Must possess a license to practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPR).
+ Must have a minimum of five years of experience as a general practice physician

We're seeking a dedicated General Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team at The Junction Youth Health Service, where we provide primary healthcare and holistic support to young people aged 12 to 25, particularly those who are homeless or at risk.
We welcome GPs with a broad range of interests. However, if you have an interest in women’s health, AOD or mental health, or you would like to develop your skills in these areas, this may be the role for you. Support will be available to undertake additional training to develop your skills.
This is a part-time position, with flexibility to work up to four days per week.
What you'll be doing:
Deliver comprehensive primary health care to young people and their children, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and advocacy.
Order and follow up on diagnostic tests, ensuring results are communicated and appropriate recalls are managed.
Collaborate and refer to external providers, including general practices, specialists, and allied health services across the ACT region.
Document clinical care accurately to meet medical, privacy, and ACT Health Directorate reporting standards.
Provide clinical guidance to the treating team and actively contribute to quality improvement and service excellence.
Uphold trauma-informed and culturally inclusive practices, including implementation of the Sanctuary Model and alignment with Anglicare's values.
Participate in supervision, training, and professional development, maintaining vocational registration and knowledge of General Practice standards.
What we're looking for:
Vocational Registration as a GP, with ongoing participation in quality assurance and continuing professional development.
Minimum of 2 years as a General Practitioner, with knowledge of the needs of vulnerable young people and their families.
