We're on the hunt for a NV1-cleared whole-of-program Training Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. This role is responsible for establishing and managing the Defence Training Forum, supporting the development of Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL) and creating training plans.
**Support the development of SADL analyse, design, develop, deliver and implementation deliverables**
**Assist with the preparation of training related project briefs and planning artefacts**

The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Software Engineer to build and implement functional programs. You will work with other Software Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Project Managers throughout the software development life cycle. The Software Engineer is required to be a team player and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development cycle, ensure relevant processes are followed, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Depending on experience, the Software Engineer can expect to support a range of applications, including programs, processes, networks, upgrades, patches, migrations, DevOps, and testing. Experience in Agile and/or SAFe frameworks is required, as well as familiarity with popular coding languages.
The Software Engineer will engage with clients, KBR staff, and other stakeholders to support the development lifecycle, and a working knowledge of ITSM processes is preferred. A strong technical knowledge about key Defence platforms, applications, and systems in use across relevant Defence groups and services is also considered beneficial. The role requires a high degree of collaboration to develop solutions that will ultimately promote growth and capability development in the Mission IT and Security Solutions line of business.
This role suits someone who is independent, resourceful, and solutions-focused - an engineer who doesn't need their hand held, can investigate and resolve issues, identify underlying problems, and proactively find their own answers.
Responsibilities
+ Work with a team of developers in an Agile environment to design and implement software solutions
+ Develop software projects, ensuring solutions align with client needs, business goals, and technical specifications
+ Work in cross-functional teams to define and refine software requirements, and coordinate the deployment of IT systems
+ Integrate software components and third-party programs
+ Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software
+ Investigate issues, identify root causes, and propose sustainable fixes
+ Proactively problem-solve and independently find solutions without requiring close direction

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
+ Proven experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or similar role
+ Familiarity with Agile and/or SAFe development methodologies
+ Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
+ Strong proficiency in Java development (C experience is advantageous)
+ Knowledge of coding languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, AngularJS, and Git
+ Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks
+ Ability to learn new languages and technologies
+ Independent problem-solving skills and the ability to find answers with minimal supervision
+ Excellent communication skills
+ NV1 Security clearance (with ability to upgrade to NV2 if required)
Desirable
+ BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and commensurate certifications with relevant professional body
+ Previous Defence or government experience working within an IT-related field.

**The role**
We are seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow Developer to join our internal team in Melbourne. In this role, you will drive the design, development, and optimization of ServiceNow implementations across multiple modules including ITSM, CSM, FSM, and EAM while also focusing on third-party integrations, identity access management (IAM), and role-based access control (RBAC). You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to shape digital transformation initiatives that support enterprise-level business objectives.
**Job responsibilities**
+ **Platform Design & Development:** Configure, develop, and customize core ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, CSM, FSM, and EAM to meet evolving business needs. Create and manage advanced workflows, forms, business rules, and UI policies. Drive platform enhancements, version upgrades, and solution design while adhering to best practices.
+ **Integration & Automation:** Architect and implement integrations with third-party systems (SailPoint, Jira, SCCM, Azure, GCP) using REST/SOAP APIs, Service Graph Connectors, and other relevant technologies. Automate service provisioning and deprovisioning using Flow Designer, orchestrations, and custom scripts
+ **IAM & RBAC Implementation** : Establish and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) within ServiceNow, ensuring secure and efficient user provisioning. Develop Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) policies and workflows, including role assignments, approvals, and auditing. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to maintain governance and adherence to privacy regulations (e.g., Australian Privacy Act).
+ **Platform Administration & Support:** Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and recommend solutions to ensure platform stability. Conduct root cause analysis for complex issues, coordinating with internal teams to implement preventative measures. Maintain high-quality technical documentation, including development guidelines, design documents, and platform policies.
+ **Collaboration & Leadership:** Partner with business analysts, project managers, and key stakeholders to gather requirements and propose optimal technical solutions. Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews) to maintain transparency and meet project milestones. Mentor junior developers, enforce coding standards, and champion best practices in ServiceNow development.
+ **Agile Delivery & Collaboration:** Work within an Agile delivery framework, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Collaborate with scrum masters, product owners, and cross-functional teams to refine user stories, estimate tasks, and ensure timely feature delivery. Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
