**About the role**
As the island mechanic it will be your responsibility to maintain our fleet of vehicles and mechanical equipment to provide resort operations with equipment and vehicles that run like clockwork. Your preventative maintenance approach to equipment will help reduce the impact of vehicle and equipment failures allowing our guest to have a trouble-free experience of a lifetime.
With naturally high standards to support our own, you'll approach every task with devotion and pride.
**_Please note this role is an on-island based casual 6 month fixed-term contract, you will be required to relocate to Hayman island._**
**About you**
You will have the following:
Experience - Trade qualification in automotive engineering.
Queensland safety induction White Card
You'll be familiar with Microsoft Office, Email, and any other reporting tools like HotSoS, Hardcat
On top of general engineering tools and hand tools, you'll have a sound knowledge in vehicle electric diagnosis and hydraulic operations
Experience with marine vessels is desired
Fitness - you'll be on your feet most of the day, and will need to bend and kneel a lot
Compliance - as well as meeting any local laws to drive around the resort you will need a Queensland drivers licence - Great communication skills, you'll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to

**What is the job?**
As Coxswain, you will provide Water Sports activities in a friendly and courteous, efficient and professional manner whilst observing resort and departmental objectives, standards and procedures with high regard for safety regulations. This Coxswain reports into the Assistant Manager of Water Sports and oversees the day to day water sports activities and vessel maintenance and excursions. The role is paramount in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of Resort Guests.
**Your day to day**
+ Fully conversant with the handling of speed craft, holding the relevant licenses approved by the Marine Board of Queensland
+ Complete daily vessel checks and return to the Watersports Assistant Manager for counter signature and filing
+ Vessel records (log books) must be accurate; entries current and completed unaltered
+ Ensure the vessel is safe. All safety equipment must be on-board for the proposed voyage and the vessel must be handled in a safe manner with guest safety and comfort assured
+ Operate only in areas / waters as designated
+ Ensure that all Watersports equipment is well maintained and presented to a high standard at all times. Immediately report any defects, problems, or maintenance requirements to the Watersports Assistant Manager
+ Start-up and shut-down procedures completed on allocated vessel. Assist in general pack up / setup duties within the department
**What we need from you**
+ Previous experience in a similar position
+ QUALIFICATION: Valid coxswains ticket
+ QUALIFICATION: Current first aid, CPR & O2 provider
+ QUALIFICATION: Current QLD RSA Certificate
+ Snorkelling and reef knowledge
+ Sound outboard knowledge
+ Fishing experience, both game and reef
+ Local Knowledge desirable but not essential

**What's the job?**
The Maintenance Manager oversees the efficient daily operation of mechanical and electrical systems, equipment across the resort, staff village, FOH and BOH areas, and the upkeep of plant rooms and public spaces, in line with the Preventative and Reactive Maintenance Programs (PMP and RMP). They play a key role in supporting the Chief Engineer and Maintenance Scheduler to eliminate unscheduled downtime by driving program deliverables. Additionally, the Maintenance Manager ensures effective leadership, staff development, training, performance monitoring, task allocation, adherence to quality and safety standards, and successful task completion by supervisors and support staff under their supervision.
**Your day to day**
+ Educate staff and guests on the importance of our policies on flora, fauna and pollution
+ Participate in public relations exercises promoted by resort including garden tours
+ Ensure punctual and efficient service is provided to our Guests
+ Recruit in conjunction with HR, train and carry out personal development plans of trade colleagues.
+ Manage, maintain and drive a high level of performance within the department, rewarding high performance when appropriate.
+ Oversee the introduction of the apprenticeship program, ensuring departmental preparedness, safety and supervision. Liaise with Trade SMEs around Apprentice development.
+ Ensure all the engineering team has the relevant and up to date licensing within the State to carry out their duties
+ Ensure safety and compliance requirements are met or adhered to while providing a high standard of workmanship.
+ Trouble shoot engineering related problems, plan and implement solutions and maintains record of repairs done in a quality system approach.
+ Department compliance with legislative controls for Contract work procurement. Work Place Health and Safety and Occupational Health and Safety both Federal and State.
+ Provide suitable plans to ensure the effective and efficient operation of all plant, industrial, equipment and systems within the resort
+ Responsible for the upkeep of all engineering Service contracts in place and implementing new ones as required
+ Overall Management of Trades team on a daily basis to ensure reporting to the Chief Engineering.
+ Exercise initiative when and where possible to improve methods of operation
**What we need from you**
+ Trade or academic qualifications
+ Electrical trade qualification and high voltage switching highly desirable
+ Confined space entry and working at heights highly desirable
+ Queensland Open driver's license
+ Management qualifications are desirable
+ Queensland General Safety Induction Card
+ At least 3-5 years in an operational manager, construction manager or engineering manager role
+ Hotel or Resort experience highly regarded

**About the Role**
The Bell Attendant will greet all guests and collect, deliver and assist with their luggage on arrival and departure. This role will also provide information to guests about events and activities on the Island and provide transfers as required in a safe and responsible manner.
**Your day to day**
+ Be the warm welcome that kicks off a memorable guest experience
+ Acknowledge IHG Rewards Club members, VIP and returning guests by name
+ Have a polite and friendly demeanour at all times
+ Deliver, collect and assist all guest with their luggage
+ Escort guests to their rooms and provide an in-room orientation
+ Assist guests with any hotel or tour information they may require during their stay
+ Assist with room moves
+ Always know what events and activities are on the day's schedule
What we need from you
+ Communication skills and problem-solving skills will turn issues into opportunities
+ Fluency in the local language - extra language skills would be great, but not essential
+ Literate and tech-savvy - you'll need a good grasp of reading, writing, basic maths and computers
+ QUALIFICATION -Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification would be beneficia;
+ Flexibility as night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job
+ You'll have a current clean driver's license
+ Ideally you'll have spent at least one year in a similar position
+ Strength - sometimes you'll need to lift, push and pull big objects and heavy items not exceeding 32kgs. This can involve bending and kneeling
+ Able to travel on boats without sea sickness

**Your day to day**
Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and adjustments on all resort pools and water features to ensure their optimal functioning. Monitor and maintain water quality by checking and adjusting the chemical balance as necessary, promptly addressing any issues that may arise. Conduct regular maintenance on valves, taps, hoses, and related equipment to keep everything in top condition. Uphold safety and cleanliness standards throughout the resort to provide a pleasant environment for both guests and staff.
In addition to maintenance tasks, be an approachable and helpful team member, offering support to both guests and colleagues. Identify and implement preventative maintenance measures to enhance overall efficiency and minimize downtime. By proactively addressing potential issues, contribute to the smooth operation of the resort's water features and ensure a consistently high standard of service for all.
**What we need from you**
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable team player who takes pride in maintaining high standards and delivering seamless guest experiences. You'll need to relocate and live on Hayman Island, Queensland, and bring a hands-on approach to your work.
A valid Queensland driver's license is essential, along with a Queensland safety induction White Card. Previous experience with pool maintenance and equipment, including pumps and testing tools, is highly desirable, and you should be physically fit to handle the demands of the role.
+ Be the holder of or be willing to obtain a valid "Pool Operators Plantroom Certificate"
+ Have experience in the operation of commercial plantroom filtration and dosing equipment
+ Have experience in the use of Spin Touch, Palin and or Lovibond pool water testing equipment
+ Have reasonable computer skills for entering data into a dedicated database
+ Be flexible on work hours and days as this role could include weekends
