**About the role**
As the island mechanic it will be your responsibility to maintain our fleet of vehicles and mechanical equipment to provide resort operations with equipment and vehicles that run like clockwork. Your preventative maintenance approach to equipment will help reduce the impact of vehicle and equipment failures allowing our guest to have a trouble-free experience of a lifetime.
With naturally high standards to support our own, you'll approach every task with devotion and pride.
**_Please note this role is an on-island based casual 6 month fixed-term contract, you will be required to relocate to Hayman island._**
**Base rate (casual) $55.59 + penalties + loading**
**About you**
You will have the following:
Experience - Trade qualification in automotive engineering.
Queensland safety induction White Card
You'll be familiar with Microsoft Office, Email, and any other reporting tools like HotSoS, Hardcat
On top of general engineering tools and hand tools, you'll have a sound knowledge in vehicle electric diagnosis and hydraulic operations
Experience with marine vessels is desired
Fitness - you'll be on your feet most of the day, and will need to bend and kneel a lot
Compliance - as well as meeting any local laws to drive around the resort you will need a Queensland drivers licence - Great communication skills, you'll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to

**What's the job?**
As one of the island's Painters, you will assist with general painting, wallpapering, repairs to attractive finishes, repairs and maintenance in the hotel as requested Maintenance Manager.
**Base rate $44.47 + penalties + loading**
**Your day to day**
+ Perform painting, plastering, minor carpentry, plumbing, and equipment repairs; assist with wall and surface preparation and basic bathroom maintenance.
+ Instructs other engineering staff in correct methods of surface preparation and paint application in other areas of his/her trade expertise.
+ Follow all Occupational Health & Safety guidelines, hotel policies, and emergency procedures; report hazards or unsafe practices.
+ Assist and train colleagues, share information, and maintain a positive working atmosphere; communicate feedback and updates with managers.
+ Attend briefings and training, wear proper uniform, meet grooming standards, and ensure work areas are clean and organized.
+ Live up to high safety standards follow guidelines and inform Engineering Management about any incidents, dangerous conditions or unsafe equipment.

**What we need from you**
+ Formal Qualification in Painting, Decorating and or Plastering

+ Strength -You will need to lift, push and pull big objects like luggage, bags, and parcels up to 50lbs (23 kg)
+ Skills - Interpersonal skills both written and verbal

**Your day to day**
The island is experiencing an exciting period of growth and needs additional trades support. Our Island Carpenters are responsible for maintaining all building structures, finishes, and carpentry related services in the resort and staff village, including laundry section, kitchens, resort and village rooms, food and beverage outlets, marina, public areas, industrial, and plant rooms. In addition, you will assist in any after-hours emergencies that may arise when required and always keep an eye out for improvements.

**What we need from you**
+ We are looking for enthusiastic and professional team players who knows how to deliver great service and exceed guest expectations. Ideally you will have:
+ Experience - you'll hold a trade qualification in Carpentry or have extensive industry experience with a high attention to detail.

**What we need from you**
Ideally, you'll have intermediate computer skills, be able to thrive under pressure, work with a diverse team, and be comfortable attending and speaking at meetings that pertain to Purchasing department.
**You must hold a current Australian driver's license,** **forklift licence and MR license and also meet the legal requirements to work in this country.** Experience as a stores clerk, 1-2 years in a large multifaceted organisation, or hotel/resort preferred and exposure to inventory management programs such as Purchase Plus will also be highly regarded.

**Your day to day**
Our collection of unique dining options provides our guests with extraordinary island experiences of which you will play an integral part.
As Chef de Cuisine, you will direct the operation of the outlet/restaurant kitchen, including food preparation and quality, physical maintenance, and inventory functions, to ensure hotel quality standards and revenue goals are met and food and supply costs are controlled.
You will also manage day-to-day kitchen activities, plan, and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members.

**Salary $85,000 p.a**
**What we need from you**
We are looking for enthusiastic and professional team players who knows how to deliver great service and exceed guest expectations.
Ideally you will have:
- Completion of a degree or certificate in culinary arts and at least 2 years of experience as a chef, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity
- Equivalent combination of education and culinary/kitchen operations experience
- Up to date food safety certification.
