**Based in Truganina, this is an exciting contract opportunity to play a crucial role as Production Planning and Inventory Control Lead in our purpose-built, fully automated sorting and retrieval warehouse and mega distribution centre in Melbourne's West.**
Reporting directly to the National DC Manager, with key stakeholders across supply planning, suppliers and freight as well as the site operations team you will be responsible for the end-to-end leadership planning and co-ordination of short-term horizon planning for materials and production.
**How you will contribute**
You will:
+ Establish the governance for production line schedules, manufacturing WIP inventory balancing, tracking of progress of manufacturing production execution and factors which affect production schedules
+ Plan, lead, organize, and control plant logistics operations including material replenishment plans, vendor delivery schedules, and total warehouse operations through establishment and implementation of systems and processes to support long term business needs.
+ Manage liaison with Demand & Supply Planning and Logistics Operations to translate demand forecast into production plans and ensure delivery of finished products for shipment on time.
+ Lead our lean manufacturing Supply Network Pillar and drive continuous improvement in inventory levels and cycle time
+ Partner Manufacturing team in implementation of production plan and production scheduling to achieve volume targets while allocating maintenance/ engineering/ project schedules
+ Lead design and implementation of effective programs and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize working capital and manage cost efficient plant logistics operations with optimal inventory level
**What you will bring**
As the preferred candidate you will be tertiary / diploma qualified in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Manufacturing or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in planning, inventory control, and warehouse management in a manufacturing environment with supervisory responsibilities will be necessary. Exposure to Lean Six Sigma / TPM or statistical process control will be an advantage.
Your ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the business along with a strong customer focus and priority setting capability will be key to the delivery of this role. Above all your ability to think creatively, and lead through times of ambiguity will see you succeed!

**Must Have Skills/Qualifications:**
+ 8+ years of experience Supporting Inventory Control, Logistics, or Warehouse Management
+ Familiarity with IT hardware and components commonly used in data center environments.
+ Proficiency in inventory management systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with barcoding and labeling systems are required.
+ Experience managing third-party logistics providers or vendors.
+ Physically able to perform material handling tasks (moving, storing, lifting etc.)
