**Minimum qualifications:**
+ JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
+ 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
+ Qualified to practice law in Australia, New Zealand or another relevant jurisdiction.
**Preferred qualifications:**
+ Experience in telecommunications law, including submarine cable capacity and infrastructure procurement.
+ Experience advising on regulatory compliance and enforcement matters at a law firm, in-house, or government agency.
+ Ability to be organized, responsive, and manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
+ Ability to work with flexibility on a broad range of legal matters.
+ Excellent communication, people-management, teamwork and organizational skills.

The Communications Law team supports Google's efforts to improve communications services and devices, maintain an industry-leading physical network, and shape and satisfy regulatory requirements around the world.

**Responsibilities**
+ Ensure compliance with telecommunications laws and regulations in APAC and other jurisdictions worldwide.
+ Obtain necessary regulatory authorizations for Google's products, services, and infrastructure operations.
+ Develop and maintain legal resources.
+ Research, develop, and articulate Google's positions on telecommunications and media issues pending at relevant regulatory bodies.
+ Respond promptly, clearly, and accurately to a wide range of requests from product counsel, product managers, engineers, and other business clients.

**Summary:**
Meta seeks an experienced lawyer to serve as Associate General Counsel for the Business Messaging product counseling team. The position will focus on providing strategic legal counseling to internal product, operations, and business teams in order to identify and mitigate global legal risk, primarily in connection with Meta's APAC Monetization team. The role will work closely with other legal department subgroups and will require creating and applying legal frameworks to new and innovative products and services. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.
**Required Skills:**
Associate General Counsel, APAC Monetization Responsibilities:
1. Analyze products, policies and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products with global reach
2. Provide product, engineering, and other business teams with legal advice across many subject areas including data protection laws and regulations, international competition law frameworks, intellectual property laws, marketing laws and regulations, and other global legal frameworks
3. Help drive consensus and coordinate with public policy, partnerships, compliance, communications and other cross-functional teams on multi-disciplinary issues
4. Work cross functionally with attorneys from other legal teams such as privacy, regulatory, commercial, and litigation

Meta requires all employed attorneys to have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location. Unless prohibited under local law, an attorney must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable
6. 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney (including at a law firm or in-house experience) in the area of technology and product development
7. Able to operate both independently and cross-functionally
8. Experience working on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment
9. Proven problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills

10. In-house experience at a technology company
11. Familiarity with ad tech, social media products and infrastructure, developer platforms, messaging services or other Internet technologies
12. Product counseling experience, including direct collaboration with clients on risk mitigation across different technologies and legal frameworks
