Apply knowledge and experience of Advanced Process Control for industrial automation, interest and aptitude in Artificial Intelligence, research, and engineering skills to play a lead technical role in the R&D team for development of breakthrough software innovations for Honeywell's flagship Industrial Automation systems towards Autonomous Operations.
**KEY AREAS OF REPONSIBILITY**
+ Develop and exploit advanced technology including AI and other technology to make a significant contribution to innovation and new product development of Industrial Automation system that is deployed to Honeywell's global customers in a range of industries
+ Apply research to conceive and develop the architecture and design of novel software systems solution for moving from Automation to Autonomy in the Industrial Process Industries as a key member of the R&D team
+ Work closely with the User Experience Design team, Software Systems Architecture team and Software Development team to develop new forms of Human Machine Interaction for autonomous operations in Industrial Plants

**QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE**

+ Deep domain knowledge of Industrial Process control systems and Advanced Process control for continuous process industries.

Preferred Qualifications

The Capital Electrical & Automation Engineer ensures that all projects are managed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance, ensuring that relevant technical standards are met.
This role involves the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and budgeting through to installation, commissioning, and ongoing support. This role will advise and support other capital engineering team members on electrical & automation decisions within other projects.
The Capital Electrical & Automation Engineer will collaborate and liaise with respective Reliability Engineers and Operational team members in order to meet project, maintenance and operational needs.

+ 5-10 years industry experience, experience working within food industry preferred
+ Lean manufacturing / Continuous Improvement (eg. TPS)
+ Significant Project engineering and Management experience
+ Leading to work effectively across cross-functional teams and influencing key stakeholders
+ Experience with people management, leadership and development
+ Strong communication (written and verbal skills)
+ Strategic Prioritisation
+ Problem Solving
+ An engineering degree recognised by the Engineers Australia Institute is required to be considered for this position.

**How you will contribute**
Reporting into the Capital Engineering & Strategy Lead **,** the role of the Capital Project Automation Engineer is to lead and execute Central Capital Projects across all Manufacturing sites, ensuring the successful design, implementation of upgrades, expansions, and new installations.
