The Controls Deployment Coordinators (CDC) position is part of a larger, highly creative and driven team dedicated to deploying our continuously evolving Amazon data center facilities. As a CDC, you will be responsible for providing contract support, procurement and financial support, guidance and recommendations to the project delivery team to insure cost management and analysis across a portfolio of fast paced projects. Here, success is measured against the possible, not the probable.
As a CDC, you will be involved in the full life cycle of construction projects working with highly motivated experts from design, construction, procurement, finance and legal team to deliver efficient and innovative data centers. You will help drive multimillion dollar projects and initiatives utilizing Amazon Leadership principles including frugality and insist on the highest standards. Success as a Controls Coordinator is measured by:
Understanding the entire construction and deployment lifecycle, the data center design types, the different vendors and systems, and how these components impact the purchasing for these deployments.
Provide Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) Inputs to Construction Technical Program Managers (TPMs) based on awarded or previously awarded designs and systems.
Provide corresponding Operational Planning (OP1/2) inputs to Finance Managers against this historic work.
Compile and submit Work Order and Change Order requests, ensuring the correct technical documents are included in the contract that Legal Team drafts.
Submit Purchase Requests with the necessary funding and vendor information to generate the Purchase Orders required to complete work.
Manage Supervisory Controls and Direct Automation (SCADA) rack forecasts and ordering.
Actively partner with Controls Engineers, Controls Managers, Finance, Legal, and Procurement to complete these key deliverables.
Applying critical thinking to make quality judgments that drive for results
Effectively communicating to multiple stakeholders on a global level
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of vendor management experience
- 4+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience
- 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
- 5+ years of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in vendor management

Controls Deployment & Service (CDS) Engineers deliver and support data center building automation systems, such as Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS). CDS Engineers work to deploy and service building automation systems, to ensure the health of our data centers. As a CDS Engineer, you may oversee deployment of a new BMS or EPMS as part of a new data center build, deliver projects to upgrade an existing data center owned or leased by Amazon, or deliver projects to upgrade colocated data centers with Amazon hardware. As a CDS Engineer, you may also be required to provide local servicing expertise to our fleet or data centers in your region, and occasionally assist with global support. Successfully working as a CDS Engineer will also require you to partner effectively with the many teams at Amazon that make our data center deployments and operations a success, including Construction, Commissioning, Critical Projects, Data Center Operations, Procurement, Program Management, Design, and Engineering teams, as well as maintaining strong relationships with our vendors.

Basic Qualifications
- Control system integration: experience building unified automated control system for enterprise level clients, consolidating equipment and subsystems; hardware, software, networking products from multiple vendors

**PURPOSE AND SCOPE**
The Project Controls Lead (PCL) works closely with leadership in Business Operations (BusOps), Projects & Construction (P&C), and other functional areas to deliver optimized project controls services for a broad array of projects in construction, operation, maintenance and management of facility assets, infrastructure and systems.

Job Summary
The PP&C Lead Specialist is a key part of the project team, interacting with all levels of Program Management and colleagues in other functional areas. As a Controls Colo Engineer, you will work with internal business teams and with colocation vendors to identify, document, and resolve any operational/design deficiencies which could impact a site's capability or availability. You will provide full life-cycle support to Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You will be the 'go to' engineering resource when technical advice is needed, and will use your subject matter expertise and engage with diverse teams to:
- Work in close relationship with the control team of DCE Colocation Design and Standards (CoDeS) to develop and implement new and existing standards.
- Perform design and equipment submittal review for Controls for new Colo Data Centers in the region in order to ensure consistent standards across Colocation Data Centers and AWS owned sites.
- Review and Identify risks within the scope of Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) for in-flight AWS Colo Data Centers.
- Review and identify risks within automation controls drawings and wiring diagrams, the controls logic programming and the graphical user interface.
- Review and accept proposed changes to the site-specific control infrastructure against AWS Data Center standards, and document accepted deviations when appropriate.
- Review Colo and Hybrid controls sequence of operation and provide feedback to design.
- Support the design for existing Colo Data Center control system upgrades and design-solutions, which add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency.
- Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures related to control equipment.
- Conduct site audits of Colo Data Centers, including producing reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediation.
- Support construction, commissioning, and turnover for Controls for any new construction projects (could be remote with local Colo Engineer presence).
