**About the role**
Our Transport Planning and Advisory team partners with its clients to provide traffic and transport solutions for the community and we currently seek a Transport Designer to join our team based in Melbourne. You will be working as part of a dedicated transport team on a range of projects and will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient transport design services as well as collaborating with a range of other engineering disciplines.
**Day to day tasks would involve:**
+ Undertake site inspections and gather base information on road environment, traffic and road safety observation, parking inventories and facilities etc.
+ Prepare transport design plans including concept, functional layouts, swept path assessments, line marking and signage and traffic signal design.
+ Design projects will include a wide range of scenarios, including car park design, site access and internal road network design, intersection design, loading dock facilities, active travel, public transport infrastructure, local area traffic management and construction traffic management etc.
+ Familiarity with relevant design standards and requirements for horizontal (2D) alignments
+ Prepare fee proposals, design reports and other design related documentation.
+ Liaise with clients, project teams and authorities to progress design projects.
+ Collaborate with the Transport Design team as well as other internal engineering disciplines.
**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
+ Diploma or Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline
+ 2 - 5 years' experience working within a traffic and transport design or engineering capacity and familiarity with appropriate CAD software such as Microstation.
+ Experience of working in a consulting environment or for local/ state government in a similar role.
+ A good working knowledge of best practice standards, guidelines, current trends and legislation in order to deliver innovative and practical traffic and transport design solutions.
+ Excellent communication skills to strongly, confidently and succinctly present traffic and transport issues and results of design outcomes to a wide audience.

THE ROLE:
We’re looking for a talented and motivated mid-weight designer for a full-time position within the Brand Marketing team, based in Sydney or Melbourne. You’ll be working for one of Australia’s largest media companies to help shape the artistic direction of some of the nation's most loved brands.
What you will be doing and what skills you may have:
This role requires a strong design generalist across digital and traditional media who is willing to be hands-on throughout all stages of the creative and production process.
This role will be expected to maintain a high level of output at short notice whilst switching between a variety of mediums and design practices. Our team is currently comprised of talented & creative designers and marketers, and as the newest member of the design team you will be required to work with various internal stakeholders to deliver high quality artwork seen by our audience.
You will have a strong creative and artistic eye for design, a passion for music, media, social networking and original concepts.
You must have in-house brand design experience, with the ability to brainstorm concepts right through to production. The expectation is to constantly deliver the highest standard of work and approach each project with passion and zest; the only limits are your imagination.
In summary:
Designing a wide variety of digital and print content including online landing pages, social posts, marketing campaigns, print ads, video openers, talent retouching, PowerPoint templates, online banners and internal communications… (just to name a few!)
Owning all parts of the design process
Demonstrating core design skills
Problem solving and creative ideation
Collaborating with stakeholders whilst providing clear and professional communication
To be successful in this role you will have:
Minimum of three years’ experience as an in-house brand or graphic designer
Highly skilled with the Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects as well as a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Completed Design Tertiary qualifications (University, TAFE, diploma and/or certificate) combined with 3 years industry experience.
An understanding of web usability and functionality and best digital graphic design practice
A willingness to keep up to date with social media guidelines and best practice
Has finished art skills and knowledge of design trends
A strong & varied online design portfolio showcasing a variety of design practices and mediums
High level of verbal and written communication skills
Excellent online and print design skills
Experience creating video assets using Adobe After Effects
Ability to manage their own workload to deliver projects on time and efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines
The ability to function both as a member of a team and autonomously
A pro-active and ‘can-do’ attitude
Strong attention to detail
Understands new design trends and displays knowledge/skills in emerging technologies
The ability to work efficiently with other team members
Works well under pressure of tight deadlines and across multiple projects
