Skilled Medical places doctors in locum and contract roles in health services across Australia.
We currently have a requirement for Locum Junior Doctors to help fulfil a range of roles Australia-wide on an ongoing basis.
There are a number of vacancies available in our junior doctor pool undertaking locum placements with Skilled Medical throughout the full 2025 year.
Position Description
The positions may involve placements in emergency medicine, general medicine, surgery, obstetrics, paediatrics, psychiatry and other medical disciplines, depending on the available roles and level of skills and experience of the doctor. The positions typically involve a mix of inpatient and outpatient duties.
Shifts include day, evening and night shifts, with potential overtime and on-call. Work may be rostered on weekdays or weekends with hours worked up to 48 hours per week.
Ongoing work with competitive rates of pay from approximately $70 per hour are available at various health service locations and these vary from short to long-term placements.
Application Requirements
Applicants must be registered medical practitioners with at least 6 months’ work experience in Australia as a registered doctor. A minimum of two (2) post graduate years of experience is required which should include terms in emergency, medicine or medical sub-specialties, and surgery or surgical sub-specialties.
All applicants must currently hold full AHPRA General Registration in order to be considered.

Your Role
In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering person-centred, high-quality care to elderly residents. You will:
Provide safe, evidence-based clinical care within your RN scope
Lead and support personal care workers in day-to-day care
Coordinate with GPs and allied health providers
Maintain accurate clinical documentation, care plans, and assessments
Participate in the AN-ACC funding process
Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance resident outcomes
What we're looking for
AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Recent RN graduate with prior PCA or aged care experience
A genuine commitment to aged care and resident wellbeing
Confidence working within a multidisciplinary team environment
Willingness to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and nights
Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
