About the role
The Quality Control Officer is responsible for performing detailed inspections of electronic and mechanical products to ensure compliance with AS9100D, ISO 9001:2015, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and MIL-STD-883 requirements. This role supports the organisation's commitment to delivering high-quality products by conducting inspections at all stages of production - from incoming materials through to final assembly - in accordance with established quality standards, customer requirements, and engineering drawings.
This role is primarily workshop/factory floor-based, involving frequent use of microscopes, measurement tools, and handling of small components. The position may require occasional overtime or shift flexibility to meet production deadlines.
What the role will involve
Some responsibilities of your role will include the following:
Inspection Activities
+ Perform visual and dimensional inspections and verify product conformance against engineering drawings, work instructions, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
+ Conduct inspections to IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and MIL-STD-883 standards.
+ Inspect soldering quality, component placement, wiring, and mechanical fit and finish.
Documentation & Reporting
+ Accurately record inspection results in quality records and databases.
+ Document and report non-conformances, initiating corrective action requests when required.
+ Maintain inspection checklists, logs, and traceability records in compliance with quality system requirements.
Continuous Improvement
+ Identify recurring quality issues and provide feedback to manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.
+ Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action initiatives.
+ Support continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing product quality and process efficiency.
Compliance & Safety
+ Adhere to all company quality procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols.
+ Ensure compliance with AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 quality management system requirements.
+ Maintain a clean and organised work area in accordance with 5S principles.
What you'll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
+ Proven experience as a Quality Control Inspector in an AS9100D and/or ISO 9001:2015-certified manufacturing environment.
+ Certification to IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and MIL-STD-883 inspection standards.
+ Hands-on experience inspecting Printed Circuit Board Assemblies and mechanical/electronic sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
+ Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, bill of materials, assembly drawings, mechanical drawings, work instructions, technical specifications and acceptance criteria.
+ Knowledge of all types of surface mount and through hole process/assemblies.
+ Proficiency in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, microscopes and precision measuring instruments.
+ Competence in documenting inspection results with high attention to detail.
+ Intermediate computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access.
+ Requires ability to sustain lengthy periods of visual concentration and good hand/eye coordination.
+ An ability to handle extremely small and delicate parts.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage simultaneous projects' engineering drawings, specifications, and documents and run the workflows where you engage with the correct stakeholders across the organization to raise the bar in the quality and the coherence of the content of the package provided.

AWS Quality Assurance Engineers have knowledge of the commercial industry design and construction process, experience reviewing technical and contractual documentation, and strong communication skills.
In this role, you will deep dive documentation for completeness, update and create procedures to optimize workflows, and look for improvement opportunities.
As the Quality Assurance Engineer, you will manage the intake of design consultant documentation, review documentation for quality compliance and completeness, and update stakeholders with progress of the final workflow documentation processing. High volumes of documentation review are part of this role and you will need to exercise strong judgement on how to communicate and engage stakeholders through various tools.

Basic Qualifications
- 5 + Years of Experience with document controllership/and or Engineering processes across planning, execution and closeout including data organization skills
- Experience with design and/or construction management software including Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM360, Bluebeam, and Procore
- Experience of working for large commercial construction projects or experience in the design or construction industry
Preferred Qualifications

**About the Role**

+ Manage all aspects of the marketing mix with an emphasis on pricing, product and promotional strategy so that profitability, brand position and market share are improved.
+ Effectively manage all key supplier relationships, including leading and participating in quarterly business reviews ensuring contract terms are negotiated and agreed.
+ Support and enable the commercial team through provision of training, resources and collateral, including effective positioning strategies vs competitors.
+ Conduct product demonstrations and seminars, and participate in customer engagement activities as required to support the portfolio and organisational growth strategy
**Keys to Success**
**Education**
+ Formal tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science (preferred).
**Experience**
+ Proven experience as a business development manager, product manager, technical sales specialist or similar role. Project management experience is an advantage.
+ Track record of successful performance in a highly focused and high-intensity environment.
+ Strong business insight into the industry sector, key players, trends, and potential challenges (preferred).
**Knowledge, Skill, Abilities**
+ Highly motivated and team player who is driven by results.
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to handle time effectively and meet agreed timelines.
+ Ability to show initiative and work autonomously to position creative solutions.

**About the Role:**
This role is accountable for driving growth & managing development, market share and profitability of Thermo Fisher Scientific products into new laboratory infrastructure projects including major refurbishments. It also carries Product Management responsibilities for a select portfolio of products and brands. Operating cross-functionally across commercial and technical teams, you will collaborate with customers, architects, engineers, and construction firms while also leading high value capital opportunities.
