About the role:

The Leadership Development Advisor contributes to the delivery and facilitation of programs and initiatives that are designed to enhance leadership and management capabilities and embed inclusive workplace practices. The role actively provides is pivotal in providing coaching and development support for new and existing leaders.

About you:

  • You will have demonstrated skills and extensive experience in facilitating clear, accurate and engaging leadership and development training to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating learning and capability uplift development programs.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence and/or demonstrated ability to travel in accordance with position requirements.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and or equivalent industry experience in Learning and Development and adult education.

Your role

As Strategic Planning Lead, you will act as a trusted partner and advisor to your Technology and Crew General Managers. You will work with business delivery teams (Crews) to provide effective delivery oversight, manage governance rhythms and cadences, work with senior leadership to define and manage objectives and key results, provide business insight and strategic advice, and partner with RBS Executives, Finance and other key stakeholder groups on the following:

Your Impact

You will be part of the Retail Bank's Performance Chapter and Line of Business Leadership Team. The Performance Chapter is responsible for ensuring that the CBA Retail Bank has the strategy, portfolio and processes in place to deliver the Group's vision and enable RBS's ambitions.

More specifically you will

  • Orchestrate the annual and quarterly planning cycle to achieve business outcomes and efficiency, contributing to the Crew's Annual commitments and quarterly Crew Memos.
  • Track and report progress against the crew objectives and key results; leverage data driven insights to inform continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive workforce strategy for the crew, ensuring alignment to business and financial targets while proactively identifying interventions to stay within workforce tolerances.
  • Establish, monitor and enhance the crew's operating rhythm, cadences and tools to optimise the flow of work, escalations and decision making.
  • Support tracking of agility metrics working closely with the Agility practice to identify opportunities to improve execution, velocity and business value for the crew.
  • Facilitate crew performance forums and oversee compliance with delivery frameworks (including milestones, financials, benefits and risks) to ensure the business is operating with Group policies.
  • Analyse and interpret complex data and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to drive business decisions.
  • Effectively develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders including your Crew Leadership, Retail Product and Channel distribution leaders, Finance, Compliance and Risk
  • Manage high complexity and change, solve problems and operate with an enterprise mindset.
  • Support the development of centralised operational procedures and tools are streamlined and consistent across all teams including KPI's, delivery and Strategic Planning Process.
  • Act as a conduit across teams to facilitate information flow, ensure commitments can be delivered, and risks and issues are escalated.
  • Ensure Crew adoption of the Group's group delivery framework, technology and methodologies.

Your Skills and Experience:
  • A strategic thinker, problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a background in strategy, program delivery, finance, or consulting - highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in analysing data and performance, and dissecting metrics.
  • Results-driven mindset and motivated by a relentless focus on performance, measurement, alignment of work to outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels, including ability to challenge the status quo.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent financial management skills to ensure tracking and monitoring is accurate and maintained at all times.
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management in complex environments adhering to compliance obligations and developing 'risk resilient' cultures.
  • Experience working in financial services industry - preferred.

About the Role

As CFO, you will deliver transformational results through a hands-on, commercially focused leadership style that reinforces our lean, agile culture . Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Planning and Reporting: Lead the finance department in delivering timely and accurate budgets, financial reports, and performance analysis to support data-driven decisions.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure the Group complies with all statutory and financial obligations, maintaining the highest standards of governance and accountability.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive efficiencies and value creation through the application of lean principles, ensuring optimal fiscal performance.
  • Risk Management: Identify, manage, and mitigate business and project risks to safeguard the Group’s long-term success.
  • Leadership: Inspire and lead a high-performing finance team, setting strategy and fostering professional growth in alignment with company objectives.
  • Commercial Negotiations: Lead negotiations on key projects to secure favourable outcomes that align with the Group’s strategic goals.

About You

To excel in this role, you will be an “A” player—an exceptional finance professional who thrives on achieving transformational results . You are a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach , combining deep financial expertise with strong leadership and commercial insight .

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent).
  • At least 10 years of experience in a hands-on CFO role or a similar senior leadership position.
  • A proven track record of delivering commercial success and driving value creation within complex, high-performing organisations .
  • Strong operational expertise , with a passion for implementing lean practices and achieving measurable results .
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills , with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop talent .
