**About the Role:**
We have a great 12 month parental leave opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel at Domain. This is an exciting period of growth, as now being part of the global CoStar Group team, we are looking at exciting new projects and products to take to market. This role will partner with key business stakeholders across Domain, and you'll be providing legal support to the business to ensure they are legally compliant in its day-to-day operations.
**Who are you?**
**The ideal candidate will be.**
+ Responsible for identifying legal risks in commercial proposals or concepts put forward by the business and working closely with the relevant stakeholders to assist them to achieve their commercial goals in a way that is legally compliant.
+ Understand commercial principals and provide legal advice that is legally sound and also practical and commercial.
+ Reviewing and negotiating data specific contracts including data licences and data sharing agreements.
+ Advising the business on the practical application of current and upcoming privacy laws in relation to Domain's products and services, including in commercial partnerships. Considering and advising on use cases and any applicable parameters or restrictions on the use of data.
+ Reviewing and negotiating technology contracts, MSAs, SaaS agreements and general service agreements.
+ Advising the business on misleading and deceptive conduct, unfair contract terms, undertaking product reviews and attending to front end dispute resolution.
**Your Background**
+ 5-8 years' experience gained in a reputable law firm, ideally within a Digital and Technology team.
+ Prior in-house experience (as a permanent hire or via secondment) is highly regarded but not essential.
+ Exposure to digital or data-driven businesses and strategic data initiatives is advantageous.
+ A confident communicator who works collaboratively and builds strong relationships across teams.
+ Comfortable operating in a small legal team, balancing independence with collaboration.
+ Flexible and hands-on - willing to pick up a range of legal tasks as business needs evolve.
**What You'll Bring**

+ Strong technical skills in areas of contract law, privacy law and consumer law.
+ Strong commercial acumen and a business focused mind.
+ Capable of being able to identify and assess risks, make decisions and provide advice which may include suggesting alternative ways forward.
+ Plenty of 'get up and go' - able to pick up instructions, connecting with the relevant business person and running with them, looping in and reporting back to the Head of Legal (Commercial) or Chief Legal and Transformation Officer, where required.
+ Good attention to detail.

+ You're a qualified lawyer (LLB or JD) and admitted to practise in Australia.

**About the Role**
AVEVA is seeking an experienced and commercially astute **Senior Legal Counsel** to join our team in **Brisbane** , supporting our business across the **Pacific region** . This role will primarily focus on **commercial legal matters** , partnering closely with our Sales and Commercial teams to review, draft, and negotiate customer contracts - including tenders, proposals, and complex enterprise software agreements covering cloud, subscription, and service offerings.
While the primary focus is commercial work, the Senior Legal Counsel will also support general corporate legal matters in Australia, providing practical advice on topics such as regulatory compliance, employment, and corporate governance as needed.
Working as part of an experienced and collaborative APAC Legal team, the successful candidate will play a key role in enabling business growth through pragmatic, solution-oriented legal advice. **What will you be doing?**
+ Be an integral part of the continued growth of AVEVA's commercial deal pursuits as well as general legal issues that arise in the region
+ To ensure compliance with all applicable laws and group legal guidelines, we provide cross-functional and multi-disciplinary legal support and advice
+ Advise, review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including but not limited to software services agreements, maintenance agreements, consultancy agreements, global contractual framework agreements, procurement, subcontractor, and strategic alliance agreements, as well as other in-bound commercial agreements
+ Liaise with and be the point of contact for internal business clients and other members of the legal department
+ Lead and assist with various special projects as may be assigned, such as developing standard contract templates, policies, and processes; improving the contract management process; and educating internal teams to ensure conformity and consistency in the application of relevant policies
+ Assist with all HR and licensing matters in the region
+ Manage and coordinate with internal subject matter experts, external counsel, and relevant authorities as needed

**Great skills to have**

Citi's **Legal** team supports our business objectives while also identifying, managing and mitigating legal, regulatory and reputational risks. As a member of our Legal team, you would provide the highest quality legal advice and counsel to stakeholders across our firm.
We're currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as **Senior Vice President, Legal Counsel, Corporate Finance, Treasury & Trade - Hybrid** (Internal Job Title: Senior Lead Counsel 1 - **C14** ) based in Sydney, Australia. The SVP level Legal Counsel position is a member of the Citi Legal, Australia & NZ team, located in Sydney, primarily supporting the Corporate Bank, Commercial Bank, and Treasury & Trade Solutions businesses in Australia and New Zealand. These businesses cover a broad range of corporate finance transactions and banking products, including corporate loans, structured finance, securitisation, acquisition finance, business banking for mid-large cap corporates, commercial real estate financing, receivables finance, letters of credit, payments platforms and corporate credit cards. In conjunction with the other Citi Australia & NZ Legal team members and the APAC regional Citi Legal IB team, there is also the opportunity to gain exposure to debt capital markets, equity capital markets and M&A transactions.
This position supports the breadth of these business areas, along with the other functional teams that also support those businesses and the Citi Australia & NZ businesses.
In addition, owing to the small size of the Citi Australia & NZ Legal team, all members of the Citi Legal team work to support each other as necessary, and are exposed to different areas of work beyond their role. These areas include legal projects involving such things as legislative and regulatory change affecting the broader business, including foreign legislative change affecting the local business and local legislative change affecting Citi businesses outside of Australia. Examples of projects that this position might get involved with are the modern slavery regime, climate reporting, privacy and data protection. All legal team members are expected to handle other cross franchise matters such as licencing queries, outsourcing and procurement contracts.
**As a successful candidate, you're expected to have:**
+ At least 10 years' post-qualification legal experience, either in-house or private practice in a common law jurisdiction
+ Extensive experience in dealing with legal issues and transactions in corporate finance, including acquisition finance, syndicated lending, bilateral secured and unsecured lending, commercial real estate financing, receivables financing and securitisation.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of Australian state and federal applicable laws and practices.
+ Proven analytical and organisational skills
+ A demonstrated ability to provide clear and concise written and verbal communication to varied audiences
+ Some broader commercial law experience
+ Flexibility and willingness to apply their skills to products, issues and legislation, in which they may not have had previous experience.
+ Strong time management skills, practical solutions focused and a history of providing excellent client service.
+ Strong team spirit and enthusiasm; willing to contribute to broader legal team and business initiatives, and to support more junior lawyers in the team.
+ Ability to create and build effective working relationships with colleagues, business and functional teams.
+ A current Australian practicing certificate or an ability to obtain one by the date of commencement
**In this role, you'd ideally have the following skills and exposure:**
+ Experience in dealing with legal issues in transactional business banking, payments platforms and corporate credit cards
+ Experience working across borders in a multi-national environment.
+ NZ legal experience
