What You'll DoIn the role of Operations & Maintenance Superintendent, your duties will include:
+ Directs work groups and/or units engaged in activities associated with the planning, construction, maintenance, operation, repair, renovation, alteration, and demolition of buildings, structures, equipment, machinery, and other facilities.
+ Obtains, evaluates and may negotiate bids from outside engineering, architectural, and construction firms.
+ Establishes schedules and budgetary controls, allocates expenditures, and oversees the coordination of major construction activities requiring integration with engineering, architectural, contracts and government agencies.
+ Ensures compliance with contract specifications, insurance requirements, and local building codes.
+ Reviews and approves architectural /engineering drawings.
+ Participates in the department strategic planning process and ensures appropriate skills are available when needed.
+ Develops and maintains relationships with other engineering organizations to keep abreast of developments in allied fields.
+ Interprets, executes and recommends modifications to organizational policies and corporate initiatives.
+ Establishes and maintains quality systems and instills values and ethics.
+ Hires employees. Manages dismissals. Conducts performance evaluations. Plans and approves salary increases. Manages discipline and documentation steps in problem employee situations.
+ Establishes department and individual performance goals. Reviews employees' performance against goals. Champions, coaches and motivates team members. Develops and trains subordinates.
+ Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
+ Must be a US or Australian Citizen
+ Must Possess a US TS/SCI with Polygraph or AUS PV Clearance.
+ Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or technical equivalent and a minimum of 8 years directly related facilities experience. In lieu of formal education, 16 years of directly related and progressively complex experience. 4 years of specialized military experience in the relative field can be substituted for a BA/BS degree.
+ Attention to Detail: Precision and attention to detail to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with safety standards.
+ Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions, technologies, and requirements.
+ Decision-Making Ability: Strong decision-making skills to resolve issues quickly and effectively under pressure.
This role will be located in Alice Springs. This project will provide the Customer's Headquarters facilities and outlying buildings with services necessary to ensure optimal performance and utilization of the facility infrastructure, including, but not limited to, Operation & Maintenance (O&M), recapitalization, renovations, design, construction, records management, repairs to correct identified deficiencies or adverse impacts to operational capabilities, and improvements leveraging innovative and technological solutions.
Who You Are
KBR is in search of a skilled Facilities Operations and Maintenance Manager to lead overall operations, maintenance, and performance of our government customer's sites. You will manage a team of specialists, focusing on operational effectiveness, maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, analytical acumen, an eye for detail, and a proven ability to make decisions and adhere to strict deadlines.
This is a 24x7 operation which requires provision of on-call support. Your role transcends conventional limits, placing a premium on the solid availability of essential systems. It's imperative that these systems remain operational without interruption. Your vigilant oversight and proactive maintenance strategies are the cornerstones of our commitment to delivering stellar customer service.
This role will be located in Alice Springs, Australia at a 4,400-acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space. The Facilities Operations and Maintenance Manager will be expected to travel between our facilities in Alice Springs and the local area. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.
What You'll Do
In the role of Facilities Operations & Maintenance Manager, your duties will include:
+ Direct the facilities' Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and repairs to include predictive and preventive maintenance including but not limited to: general maintenance of buildings/structures, ground services, engineering, central plant, fire protection/life safety, security, O&M, ground services, construction renovations, and custodial.
+ Develop equipment maintenance scheduling plans; Maintenance, testing, and inspection of appropriate equipment and systems shall be done in accordance with current applicable US Government and Host Nation codes
+ O&M of all structures, systems, sub-systems and components shall be in compliance with original equipment manufacturers' (OEM) instructions and recommendations
+ Utilize industry standard practices as a means of predictive maintenance for applicable service areas
+ Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the planned maintenance program, and implement any necessary modifications leading to the reduction of equipment failures or make recommendations for altering the planned maintenance program to increase efficiency
+ Formulating and enforcing operational and maintenance standards that support company objectives, contractual requirements and comply with regulatory and environmental standards
+ Hiring, training, and leading a competent workforce to be versatile and technically savvy
+ Orchestrating activities to align with the overarching contract requirements and to ensure smooth site operations
+ Guaranteeing the continuity of critical infrastructure operations, with a commitment to reliability for around-the-clock mission support
+ Implementing work processes and leveraging data analysis to assist clients with achieving reliable equipment performance at cost-effective rates
+ Drafting comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals
+ Communicating effectively with diverse teams, responding to questions, and solving a range of operational issues
+ Applying corporate standards diligently and upholding strict adherence to environmental, health & safety, and regulatory requirements
+ Keeping a close watch on contractual obligations and staying informed of any regulatory changes that impact facility operations
Requirements
+ Possess an active TS/SCI with adjudicated CI polygraph or Host Nation PV clearance
+ A minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting projects of similar scope, size and complexity
+ A minimum of two (2) consecutive years of supervisory experience in the field of facilities maintenance
+ Demonstrated experience prioritizing daily/weekly/monthly work plans
+ Demonstrated experience incorporating applicable environmental health and safety practices across responsible work areas
+ Experience working in 24x7x365 operational environments requiring close coordination with mission operations
+ Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining power generation equipment
+ Demonstrated experience building recapitalization plans
+ Ability to read construction design and equipment drawings
+ Knowledge of process improvement models (e.g LEAN/Six Sigma, ISO 9000)
+ Experience in operations management, construction/renovation projects
+ Experience planning and implementing large-scale facility and logistics projects
+ Experience integrating project schedules
+ Proficient knowledge and experience in the use of project management concepts to manage items including, but not limited to project schedule, scope, cost, risk, and deliverables and related metrics
