**Job Summary**
This role is responsible for the development and execution of marketing plans and programs in support of the MDS business objectives. The Associate Marketing Director will work closely with the marketing team, as well as other departments, to ensure that all marketing activities are aligned with the company's overall strategy. They will also be responsible for managing the marketing budget and ensuring that all marketing initiatives are delivered on time and within budget.
**Job Description**
+ Serve as a marketing thought leader, developing and driving the strategy for multiple product platforms.
+ Lead cross-functional teams in planning, organizing and successful executing of plans.
+ Demonstrated strategic input in the achievement of the annual MDS revenue and gross profit targets for ANZ; input in achievement of OIBT business commitments by controlling expenses to meet budget guidelines, delivering marketing activities within agreed budget.
+ Develop and implement long term marketing strategy; able to express vision for a segment over the long term by developing a strategy that leads or shapes the market; identifies ideas with strong strategic value.
+ Correctly creates primary and secondary defensive strategies.
+ Demonstrates proficiency in creating a pricing strategy.
+ Demonstrates proficiency in creating a branding strategy.
+ Creates and executes a success digital strategy.
+ Lead the development, implementation and execution of commercial and product marketing strategies and plans to achieve the business unit objectives. This includes, but is not limited to: market analysis, assessment, segmentation, targeting and demand forecasting, product launches, pricing strategies, development of demand generation campaigns and development of sales tools.
+ Work closely with the Sales (including BD Partner) and Clinical Managers in identifying key trends and critical concepts and translating them into the marketing strategy for the business. Collaborate with Sales and Clinical Managers to ensure execution of annual plans and achievement of financial goals.
+ Establish credibility throughout the organization and with external stakeholders as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
+ Guide marketing team through successful product launches.
+ Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance and feedback to help them grow in their careers.
+ Stay up to date on latest marketing trends and best practices, and share insights with the team on how they can be applied to our business.
**Knowledge and Experience:**
+ Degree in Marketing or Business Administration or industry related discipline, MBA is a plus.
+ Extensive experience as a marketing thought leader in the medical device / healthcare industry and/or in a consulting role.
+ Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams in planning, organizing and successful executing of plans.
+ Possess a strong understanding of both Sales & Marketing
+ Prior marketing experience within ANZ markets
+ Experience creating and executing growth plans is essential
+ Strong business acumen and results oriented
+ Demonstrated skills in managing a formal budget; expertise in establishing/ achieving expense and/or program budget; linking promotion and/or advertising budgets to results.
+ Excellent presentation skills, both oral and written
+ Clinical AND OR Sales experience advantageous

**CORE WORK ACTIVITIES**
**Managing Marketing Communications Activities**
- Develops an annual communications plan with specific goals and budgets as outlined in the hotel's marketing plan and aligns with brand requirements. Prepares working plans to achieve goals and ensures the communications team is fully briefed on goals and progress.
- Compares actual achievements against goals on a regular basis and takes corrective action.
- Works with the Director of Sales and Distribution and prepares on a timely basis the monthly sales and marketing "communications" report.
+ Planning of all mailing activities, and oversees their execution.
- Ensures that the corporate ID manual is kept up-to-date and implemented as appropriate.
- Supervises and directs photography for advertising, collateral and public relations purposes.
+ Works closely with the PR Agency and the field marketing department at corporate office to ensure activations & happenings are scheduled and on brand and that social media content and partnerships are priority.

**Managing Public Relations Activities**
- Acts as official spokesperson for the hotel when appropriate and responds to all media requests within 24 hours.
- Compiles and maintains a comprehensive list of media contacts and manages them as per the media account management system. Delegates assigned accounts to communications staff as appropriate but takes full responsibility for the key media by maintaining and developing close relationships
- Prepares press releases for appropriate targeted media, locally, regionally and internationally.
- Works closely with the corporate and international press offices on developing story angles.
- Plays a key role in community and government relations as well as VIP handling.
- Secures opportunities, directs and attends hotel sponsored events, and develops targeted partner relationships.

**Managing Direct Marketing Activities**
- Takes an integrated approach to DM activities, ensuring a consistent and quality image is projected.
- Is responsible for planning, implementation and tracking of electronic marketing activities.
- Maintains budget control.
**Manages Collateral**
- Coordinates and executes production of all printed materials, with assistance of advertising agencies, following the specifications stipulated in the corporate ID manual.
- Ensures hotel information is updated regularly on the internet/intranet.
- Supervises the production and quality of all displays and temporary signage in hotel public areas.
- Supervises and budgets for quality gift items as appropriate. Ensures correct usage of hotel logo on gift items as stipulated in corporate ID manual.

**Human Resources**

**The Opportunity**
We are seeking a visionary Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the pre-opening commercial strategy and the ongoing market performance of Australia's first Andaz. This role will be based on the beautiful Gold Coast, and will shape the hotel's market entry, craft its brand narrative, and drive sustainable revenue across rooms and F&B in a lifestyle-led, experience-centric environment.
You will report to the General Manager and lead a high-performing Sales & Marketing team across sales, revenue strategy, brand marketing, digital, PR and reservations partnerships. You will be the hotel's commercial champion, ensuring every touchpoint reflects Andaz brand promise while delivering strong top-line results for all stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Pre-Opening**
+ Build the go-to-market plan: positioning, pricing, channel strategy, content and launch calendar tailored to a room-led, lifestyle hotel
+ Design the optimal commercial structure, recruit and onboard a best-in-class Sales & Marketing team, and embed Hyatt/Andaz operating standards
+ Develop segment strategies: luxury leisure (domestic as expected majority and inbound), premium corporate, conference guests attending GCCC, high-end wholesale, consortia/TA, entertainment, long-stay suites, and lifestyle groups/buyouts
+ Create partnerships: local brand collaborators, wellness, culture, art, culinary and beach lifestyle partners; tourism bodies; influencers and content creators
+ Lead pre-opening revenue management in partnership with the RM team and great regional Hyatt leadership: demand forecasting, pricing, inventory rules, distribution and channel mix
+ Establish digital foundations: website, SEO/SEM, CRM, social, content production, visual identity and storytelling; manage agency relationships
+ Craft PR/communications strategy with your Marketing manager: brand launch, media hosting, trade education, and community engagement

**Operating**
+ Own total commercial performance: rooms, F&B and ancillary revenues with a focus on RevPAR index outperformance and profitable channel mix
+ Lead and coach the Sales & Marketing team; set targets by segment, monitor productivity, develop talent and succession plans
+ Maintain key account leadership and market presence; drive account acquisition and grow share in target segments
+ Oversee marketing and digital performance: campaigns, content, social, CRM, loyalty (World of Hyatt), and reputation management
+ Arrange and lead weekly revenue/yield meetings; align pricing, inventory, and promotional levers with demand and pace
+ Ensure brand guardianship across all guest touchpoints and communications, elevating the Andaz experience and storytelling

**Qualifications:**
+ Proven success as a Director of Sales & Marketing (or senior commercial leadership) within luxury or upper-upscale hotels
