CRITERIA:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Qualifications: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions
- Experience: A minimum of 4 years experience in Critical Care setting, ICU, CCU, HDU within Australia or New Zealand. Ventilation competency. ALS.

The hospital has 209 beds and a 24 hour emergency department, providing the major trauma response centre for the region.
Alice Springs ICU is a nationally accredited Level 2 unit, incorporating 10 ICU beds and HDU/CCU beds. Most patients are 25-50 years old and many come from communities 500km+ from Alice Springs. The types of conditions present in this unit include coronary care, surgical and medical high dependency and Intensive care, neonatal and paediatric intensive care and trauma management.
The very modern unit is well equipped including Hamilton S1/C6, and Draeger V800, along with Prismax/Prismaflex CRRT Machines. 99% of admissions are emergency admissions, with an average age of 49yrs, majority indigenous, high Apache scores, and four times the national average of renal replacement therapy - a patient demographic like no other ICU in Australia.
The Location
You will be living in Alice Springs which is the hub of the Northern Territory! The perfect base to explore central Australia from.
Nestled between the East and West MacDonnell Ranges, ‘Alice’ is famous for its beautiful desert landscapes, colourful outback characters, opportunities for adventure and a strong Aboriginal culture.
