About the Role
- Full-time locum contract, 38 hours per week, 8 weeks+, starting ASAP
- Monday to Friday roster giving you worklife balance
- Provide support to clients through trauma-informed care and basic counselling
- Work autonomously while having access to professional support from the Rural & Remote Resource Team
- Accommodation provided and travel allowance included
- Contract initially for 8 weeks with potential for extension
- Be part of a new initiative supporting clients, giving you the opportunity to make a real difference in a community in need
- Engage in community outreach and disaster recovery support, making a visible impact on local clients
About You
- Qualified Social Worker with AASW eligibility
- Experienced in trauma-informed care and counselling
- Previous experience in a similar community or disaster recovery role preferred
- Confident working autonomously while knowing professional support is available
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with clients and the community quickly
- Excited to live and work in Central Queensland, enjoying its stunning coastline, friendly communities, and relaxed lifestyle

About My Role
As a Social Worker at Northcott, I will be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team including Social Workers, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists. Together, we provide contemporary, evidence-informed therapies that support our clients in achieving their goals.
I will take an interprofessional approach , working closely with therapists to ensure customers receive holistic and coordinated support. I will bring a demonstrated referral network and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with relevant external organisations, ensuring both interim and ongoing support is available for our customers. This role involves travel across Northcott’s service centres, with a company vehicle provided.

- Previous experience in disability services or other relevant community services sector.
- A degree in Social Work and/or Human Services, or other relevant qualifications
- Active membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Demonstrated clinical competencies and commitment to best practice
- Experience to provide staff mentoring, training and support on job-related training needs.
- Flexibility to travel to Northcott service centres to provide customer support
- Availability to provide on-call support when required
