**Your New Role and Responsibilities**
We have an opportunity for a talented Container Platform Engineer to support our Federal Government customers IT systems, including mission critical systems. We have multiple opportunities to join our exciting multi-year program to deliver and support an enterprise Case Management System.
In this role you will provide Level 2 and Level 3 ITSM support for mission system applications. You will work in a small support team providing technical support and troubleshooting of technical issues and ensure continued operation of services.You'll interact with the Leidos developers who are updating the application, the security operations team, client system owners, 3rd party product vendors and of course, end users.
Key Responsibilities: -
+ Provide Level 2 and 3 system monitoring, technical support, and incident management, ensuring continuous service improvement and reliability.
+ Own and manage incidents end-to-end, including triage, resolution, escalation, and post-incident analysis.
+ Conduct root-cause analysis for application issues and collaborate with ITSM teams and end users to implement solutions.
+ Support the design and implementation of Kubernetes containerisation and DevOps processes, including observability features.
+ Maintain system documentation and knowledge base articles, and participate in on-call rotations to meet priority incident KPIs.
What You'll Bring to Make An Impact
+ Proficient in ITSM tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence) with strong knowledge of ITIL processes and incident/problem management.
+ Skilled in application troubleshooting, issue resolution, and customer support.
+ Experience with scripting, task automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab, Jenkins).
+ Hands-on experience with containerisation (Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
+ Strong multitasking, prioritisation, and collaboration skills, including working effectively in a distributed team environment.

We're seeking an experienced  **Senior Engineer to** join a specialist team focused on building a scalable data platform which ingests high-frequency telemetry data from mobile field machines and supports  **data science and machine learning workloads** .
You'll be instrumental in transforming a legacy Java Spring Boot monolith into a containerized, scalable, cloud-ready architecture, while enabling stream and batch data processing, lakehouse persistence, and low-latency predictive model hosting.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Design and implement robust, scalable components for ingesting, processing, and persisting high-frequency telemetry data.
+ Collaborate with data scientists to host, orchestrate and optimize workloads in Python, Scala, and Java.
+ Design and build components using technologies like Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Redis/Valkey, MQTT, and PostgreSQL.
**Drive modernization efforts including:**
+ Containerization and deployment on Kubernetes
+ Integration with S3-compatible object stores (e.g., Ceph)
+ Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (e.g., Flink, Trino, Kafka, DuckDB, Dask, Daft) to optimize performance and scalability.
+ Use your experience to contribute to architectural decisions involving event sourcing, CQRS, and hybrid cloud deployments.
**Ideal Candidate Profile**
+ Extensive experience in backend development with languages such as Java, Scala and Python.
+ Proven track recordworking in teams to develop large, complex applications.
+ Deep understanding of streaming and batch data processing, ideally with Apache Spark or similar.
+ Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

+ Drive technical sales with decision makers using demos and PoCs to influence solution design and enable production deployments.
+ Lead hands-on engagements-hackathons and architecture workshops-to accelerate adoption of Microsoft's cloud platforms.
+ Build trusted relationships with platform leads, co-designing secure, scalable architectures and solutions
+ Resolve technical blockers and objections, collaborating with engineering to share insights and improve products.
+ Maintain deep expertise in Analytics Portfolio: Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, DW, real-time intelligence, BI, Copilot), Azure Databricks, Purview Data Governance and Azure Databases: SQL DB, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL.
+ Maintain and grow expertise in on-prem EDW (Teradata, Netezza, Exadata), Hadoop & BI solutions.
+ Represent Microsoft through thought leadership in cloud Database & Analytics communities and customer forums
**Qualifications**
**Required Experience**
+ 5+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience 
+ Expert on Azure Databases (SQL DB, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL) from migration & modernize and creating new AI apps.
+ Expert on Azure Analytics (Fabric, Azure Databricks, Purview) and competitors (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake) in data warehouse, data lake, big data, analytics, real-time intelligent, and reporting using integrated Data Security & Governance.
+ Proven ability to lead technical engagements (e.g., hackathons, PoCs, MVPs) that drive production-scale outcomes.
