About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Practice Manager/Nurse to join a well-established general practice on Brisbane's northside.
In this dual role, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinic while providing hands-on nursing care to patients. This position combines leadership, business management, and clinical practice, ideal for a nurse ready to step into a leadership position within a collaborative, community-focused environment.
Alternatively, we are also considering applications from a Part-time Practice Nurse (28 hours per week) who is passionate about patient care and looking for a supportive and flexible workplace.
Key Responsibilities
As Practice Manager:
- Lead risk management and quality improvement initiatives
- Oversee recruitment, staff development, and performance management
- Ensure compliance with all legislative and accreditation standards (RACGP)
- Manage financial reporting, rostering, and budgets
- Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement
As Practice Nurse:
- Provide clinical care including immunisations, wound management, ECGs, and pathology collection
- Conduct health assessments, care plans, and chronic disease management
- Maintain high standards of infection control and equipment sterilisation
- Support preventative health and patient education initiatives
- Ensure adherence to clinical governance, WHS, and quality standards
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Proven experience in general practice or primary healthcare
- Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
- Sound knowledge of RACGP accreditation and compliance standards
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy clinical environment
Desirable
- Previous experience in a dual Practice Manager/Nurse role
- Familiarity with medical software (e.g., Best Practice, Medical Director, or similar)
- Business management or leadership qualifications

Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of IT consulting/management with IT Transformation in customer-facing roles experience
- 3+ years of program or engagement management work leading other project managers to deliver a program with multiple and concurrent projects experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or a related field
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud computing transition challenges
