About the Role

We are recruiting for a Preventative Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to join the weekend service crew based in Wacol, Brisbane. This is a permanent full-time position providing preventative maintenance support across the packaging production department.

Roster: 9.5-hour shifts working 4 days on, 1 off, 4 days on, 5 off.

About You:

You have experience in a similar role and industry and in addition to the planned maintenance, breakdown and repair activities you are familiar with, you also have the skills to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in process, systems and equipment.

You’ll Bring:

  • QLD Electrical licence

  • Capability to work in a fast-moving, high-volume manufacturing environment

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

  • Knowledge of local regulatory and statutory requirements relating to industrial services and environment

  • Basic knowledge in electrical and low / high Voltage systems, Lockout Tag-Out procedures and Safety of Electrical Operations

  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills

What You'll Do

  • Perform routine inspection, repair, refurbishment, overhaul and upgrade of AUV mechanical systems and equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical issues, conducting component and subsystem-level tests, collaborating with engineers and other trades to resolve complex issues
  • Operate the Maintenance Management System (MMS), ensuring accurate records of maintenance activities, parts and consumables consumption
  • Conduct underway Sea testing of AUVs leaving factory or maintenance environments
  • Support development, review and trial of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation for AUV maintenance activities operations
  • Assist with the preparation of risk assessments for maintenance and test operations, identifying and implementing mitigations
  • Provide constructive feedback to design and manufacturing teams for ongoing evolution
  • Be able to be deployed to the field to perform emergency repairs when necessary, potentially in challenging conditions or adverse weather
  • Support customer representatives in gaining skills and experience to support fielded AUVs
Required Qualifications & Attributes
  • 4+ years experience in maintenance of mechanical system or structures
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hand-tool skills
  • Vocational training in mechanical trades or associate degree ideal
  • Trade background in Maritime, Automotive, Aviation or equivalent high-tech industry.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation (mechanical drawings, work instructions, equipment schematics etc.)
  • Experience performing component, subsystem and system level test and diagnosing/escalating issues discovered during these processes
  • Exposure to operation of Maintenance Management Systems
  • Maritime/forklift/crane qualifications desirable, not essential
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a NV2 Security Clearance

**Your Opportunity**
The Mechanical Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for performing a broad range of heavy and line maintenance activities on aircraft maintained by the company whilst ensuring safe work practices.
Annual Salary from AUD$92,088 to $119,714 + Super + Bonus.
**Your Responsibilities**
+ Promote and drive Jet Aviation Values and Compliance policy and procedure to support the desired company and facility culture
+ Be dedicated to exceeding the customers' expectations and delivering an efficient operation, whilst maintaining a safe environment.
+ Ensure that the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is carried out in accordance with OEM and other approved publications/instructions using approved parts supplied from approved sources.
+ Make certain that you have been correctly trained and authorised to carry out the work assigned to them and that the procedures laid down in the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) are followed.

A day in the life
Our RME Technicians are based on-site, so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. You'll carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance to our sites' equipment to make sure it's working safely. As an RME Technician, you'll also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. You'll also make suggestions for long-term improvements.
Working alongside senior colleagues, you'll undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks general building maintenance.
About the team
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipment performing at its best. We're a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of Fulfilment Centres, Sortation Centres and Delivery Stations.
Basic Qualifications
- Formal Trade Qualification: Served a full Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering qualified to a minimum of Certificate III.
- Cert III Mechanical Engineering (Fitter/Turner). Alternatively, equivalent trade qualification formally recognised in Australia.
- Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems
- Experience fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems,
- Ability to read and understand electrical /mechanical drawings
- Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters
- Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with CMMS systems.
- Experience with sortation machines.
- Experience with maintaining/configuring bar code scanners.
