About the role – PSP-FP Coordinator
p>As Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a vital Family Preservation program that delivers high-quality, strengths-based support to vulnerable families—particularly those identified as having children at risk of entering statutory care. This role is key to ensuring families receive intensive, effective case management to keep children safe and at home. Your leadership will empower a dedicated team of caseworkers committed to building strong families and improving long-term outcomes. p>Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage a team of caseworkers to achieve program goals and uphold high standards of service delivery
- Oversee intake and referral processes, monitor family progress, and provide regular updates to the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ)
- Deliver formal clinical supervision, both individually and through group sessions, to support caseworker growth and accountability
- Provide hands-on support in the field, including participation in home visits and interagency meetings
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with DCJ and other key community stakeholders
- Ensure accurate data collection, reporting, and compliance with program requirements
- Embed culturally safe, evidence-informed practices and support staff in applying relevant practice frameworks in their day-to-day work
About you in the role
You’ll be a confident and compassionate leader with experience supervising teams in child protection or community services. You will bring a deep understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable families in regional New South Wales and know how to support caseworkers to both identify and mitigate child protection concerns in a way of which strengthens family units and supports all family members to reach their full-potential.

About the Role
This is a contract opportunity until April 2026, with possible extension and will be based in Dubbo with some travel required.
Uniting are open to this being a full time 35 hours per week (5 days/week) or part-time 28 hours per week (4 days/week)
We’re seeking a creative, experienced, and highly organised individual to join our PSP-FP team. In this role, you will provide culturally responsive assessment, support, and case management to families at high risk of statutory child protection involvement or who are undergoing reunification with their children.

What you will be engaged in:
- Assessing families’ strengths and needs through home visits, deep and meaningful conversations with families and communication with other stakeholders
- Assisting families to formulate and achieve goals that are child-focused and address the safety and well-being of children.
- Facilitating the development and implementation of case plans with families.
About You
- This is an identified Aboriginal position. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply in accordance with Section 14 (d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
- You are a proud Aboriginal person with deep cultural understanding, strong community connections, and a commitment to Aboriginal children, families and communities.
- Demonstrated case management experience with at-risk children and their families.
- Demonstrated understanding of child protection issues and an ability to conduct risk and family assessments using a strengths-based approach.
- Demonstrated ability to work with families in crisis and work in partnership with them to achieve their goals, using a variety of evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting Aboriginal families using culturally safe and sensitive interventions.
- Commitment to ongoing training and development to ensure a broad range of evidence-based models as determined necessary by the program.
- Current NSW Working With Children’s Check.
- Current drivers licence.
