The clinical nurse consultant for the Infectious Diseases team provides expert clinical advice on all matters relating to infectious diseases as reportable under the NSW Public Health Act 2010, in South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
This role provides a high degree of clinical consultancy around communicable diseases through the delivery of specialist consultant services relating to:
• Ensures adherence with the communicable diseases control guidelines under the NSW Public Health Act 2010 and the NSW health communicable diseases control guidelines
• Provides leadership within the infectious diseases team as well as in the ongoing development of public health practice both locally and within the state
• Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services
• Contributes to the development and delivery of education programs related to infectious diseases and public health
• Provides high level support to outbreak management
• Identifies, participates and leads on quality improvement and accreditation activities
Clinical Nurse Consultants are employed as Grade 1, 2 or 3 according to the criteria outlined below, and in line with the NSW Public Health System Nurses’ and Midwives’ (State) Award.

What is the Harm Reduction Program at ACON?
Harm Reduction at ACON delivers several community programs that reduce harm for LGBTQ+ community members that use alcohol and other drugs, including a Needle Syringe Program, the Rover program, the Between The Lines online resources (website and social media), and other harm reduction initiatives and campaigns.
This program manages the Between The Lines website and social media resource development, harm reduction campaign development, and workshop design and delivery in essential harm reduction skills for our communities.
Ok, so what’s the role?
The Community Health Promotion Officer Harm Reduction Outreach is a dynamic role that is key to supporting the delivery of the Harm Reduction Programs. You will:
- Support the Manager, Harm Reduction in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of ACON’s community education, health promotion and capacity building programs, which are designed to reduce harms associated with AOD use among LBGTQ+ communities.
- Foster collaborative relationships and maintain partnerships with a range of stakeholders across the sector, including community members, venues and event promoters.
- Develop, coordinate and deliver targeted resources, campaign materials, workshops and training related to harm reduction and AOD support for LGBTQ+ people and their friends, families and carers.

About the RoleDue to ongoing growth and new partnerships, we’re seeking a Physiotherapist to join our expanding team.
Location : Primarily Inner West & South West Sydney (with occasional Sydney-wide coverage)
Employment type : Part-time or Full-time
Caseload : Predominantly elderly clients and people living with a disability
Work style : Flexible, autonomous, and client-focused
This role requires a broad range of clinical skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work largely independently while staying connected with our supportive management and admin team.

About the role
Currently seeking highly motivated and experienced dental assistants who enjoy working in a team and are focused on providing the highest quality patient-centred care. This is an opportunity to expand your skills at an organisation invested in your long-term development. We are looking for staff to join our large team who are keen to make a change in people's lives by improving their oral health. Experience in mobile dental settings and Certificate IV in Oral Health Promotion will be highly regarded.
This position participates in the provision of dental care to eligible patients in accordance with their identified needs. The position may be based at any of the Barwon Health dental clinics located at the Belmont, Barwon Health North, Newcomb Community Health Centres or regional clinics (on rotation). As part of an inter-disciplinary dental team with a focus on population health, the position is responsible for the delivery of high quality and cost effective dental services.
This position also operates within a multi-disciplinary environment incorporating a range of shared team processes and interventions that recognize the breadth of client and community health needs beyond that of primary presentations, along with the need to engage with and become "Partners for Health" with individuals and communities to achieve an improvement in the health of the population.
