We're seeking an experienced Business Leader to lead our Environmental Services business in Queensland. Our group of passionate experts tackle complex challenges across ecology, environmental approvals, impact and risk assessments, and environmental management.
As a Business Leader, you'll play a pivotal role in influencing operations within one of Australia's most leading and innovative nationally structured Environment businesses, comprised of nearly 300 people. Reporting to the Regional Director, you'll lead with purpose-driving safety, people, client service, growth, and operational excellence.

You'll help expand our client base, strengthen existing relationships, and lead strategic pursuits in a region full of potential. **Day to day tasks would involve:**
* Develop and implement business strategy and revenue growth plans for the Queensland business to achieve organisational goals and agreed outcomes.
* Lead project delivery and team performance, ensuring excellence in resourcing, utilisation, and margin management.
* Inspire and guide your team with clear direction and purpose.
* Responsible for winning work and achieving net revenue and backlog targets, with support from leaders and staff.
* Foster collaboration across Business Centres with a focus on cross-selling nationally to consistently win new work with clients.
* Champion a high-performance culture focused on talent, productivity, and financial performance.
* Drive quality and timely delivery of projects that exceed client expectations.
* Build and nurture client relationships, lead major projects, and drive strategic pursuits.
* Promote a proactive safety culture in partnership with our HSSE leadership.
**To be successful for this role you'll need:**
* Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Environmental Science / Engineering, or a related technical degree.
* 15 years of senior-level experience in environmental services.
* Proven leadership skills and a track record of building high-performing teams.
* Strong commercial acumen and significant project delivery experience.
* Effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
* Exceptional client relationship and stakeholder management skills, underpinned by deep knowledge of QLD's environmental services market.

+ Manages and coordinates a broad spectrum of activities simultaneously.
+ Lead, coach, and mentor a team of EHS resources.
+ Provide oversight and governance to ensure EHS compliance with applicable management systems, programs legislation and standards for services within their portfolio.
+ Serves as an EHS expert for applicable regulatory and industry standard requirements for services activities within their portfolio.
+ Ensure that their portfolio EHS performance is correctly being reflected in the relevant KPIs, partnering with the key stakeholders to develop action plans to address deviation versus expectations.
+ Able to proactively partner and develop positive working relationships with customers, external agencies and contractors as well as internal cross-functional personnel.
+ Provide oversight and governance to ensure EHS compliance with applicable management systems, programs legislation and standards for projects within their portfolio.
+ Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of health and safety initiatives and drive accountability across the portfolio.
+ Ensure compliance and coordinate with the Cross functional team to ensure the implementation of both GEV and legislative EHS expected programs and training requirements.
+ Support ITO/OTR and handover or response to customer queries for projects within their portfolio.
+ Act as a People leader, having GE direct report as well as EHS Contingent workers as per business need.
+ Supports all other demands as assigned.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety or technical equivalent from an accredited college or university, or equivalent qualification
+ Relevant EHS experience in a professional EHS role overseeing the execution of EHS in projects or services environment
+ Significant experience and demonstrated achievements with safety programs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
+ Certified Environmental or Health and Safety professional
+ Medical fitness and ability to work at height per local and global standards
+ Able to coach and support key influencers to drive EHS compliance and the reduction of risk through team engagement and help develop an organizational culture that prioritizes EHS.
+ Knowledge of EHS management systems
+ Fluent English (verbally & in writing)
