The primary role of a _Field Service Technician_ is to provide repair and preventative maintenance services for all Hach Process and Laboratory Analytical equipment while promoting customer satisfaction and maintenance contract growth across the region.
This position is part of the _Service Department_ located in _Dandenong South, Victoria_ and will be _onsite and remote._
**In this role, a typical day will look like:**
+ Use established ISO work instructions to provide repair and preventative maintenance services for all Hach equipment.
+ Work cooperatively with Service team and field sales staff to promote customer satisfaction.
+ Be highly motivated and able to work without supervision.
+ Actively promote contractual service agreements and upgrade purchases of new equipment.
+ Submit prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
+ Extensive travel will be incurred within Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
**The essential requirements of the job include:**
- Trade certificate or 5+ years' experience in Instrumentation or process control systems required.
- Restricted Electrical or Full Electrical License preferred.
- Mastery of PM, diagnostics & repair on other products to fulfil customer requirements within the territory.
- Experience in a commercial Service role with metrics and monitored KPI performance preferred.
- Candidate must have the right to live and work in Australia.

The Field Service Technician role is responsible for attending to customer premises to carry out servicing, inspections, breakdown support and repairs to access equipment including elevating work platforms, lighting towers and telehandlers.
The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing a superior level of customer service and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the customer needs are met within their given region.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
+ Carry out inspections, servicing and repairs of equipment with a focus on elevating work platforms, telehandlers and lighting towers. May work with other types of equipment on occasion such as hydraulic hoses, small diesel engines, etc
+ When attending to customer's sites make every effort to repair machines on site limiting the need to transport the machines off site
+ Be available to travel including overnight accommodation when requested
+ Responsible for completing all appropriate paperwork and inspection forms required by JLG policy, ANZ Standards and customer and/or site requirements in a timely manner
+ Responsible for notifying the Field Service Coordinator if repairs or services can't be completed during visit and the reason why, where required providing information for the ability to provide the customer a quote
+ Providing a superior level of customer service
+ Liaising with technical support including the interpretation of manuals where required
+ Conduct van audits and stock takes
+ General administrative duties relevant to the role including entering accurate job notes
+ Generating sales and service leads where possible and collaborating with the team
+ Maintain personal retail labour utilization rates as per target
+ Be able to contact or visit customer sites to generate additional service work as required and in consultation with the Field Service Coordinator.
+ As a Field Service Technician, you are also required to carry out general duties from time to time as requested by management
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Previous experience in a similar role - experience with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical advantageous
+ Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal
+ Ability to establish rapport with internal and external customers
+ Drivers licence
+ Proficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy including the ability to write job notes, read safety information, machine manuals and street signs and understand basic numeracy such as time, parts numbers and quantities
+ Ability to travel 25%
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Trade qualification in elevating work platform technology, heavy vehicle, diesel, automotive, auto electrical or related field

**Your New Role and Responsibilities**
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer based in **Launceston** to support installations of our latest screening technologies across Tasmania. Working closely with a Field Service Engineer based in Hobart, this role involves servicing customer sites across the state.
This is a great opportunity to join a supportive, experienced team and play a key role in delivering high-quality service to our customers. This highly experienced team will provide continual training and support along their journey.
**Key Responsibilities: -**
+ Performing preventive maintenance, upgrades and repairs at customer sites.
+ Managing customer relationships and providing support both in person and via the phone by responding to customer issues and also seeing them through to resolution.
+ Completing service, expense and weekly time reports.
+ Contribute to the team's focus on improving service delivery performance.
+ Participating in ongoing training to up-skill and enhance product knowledge.
**What You'll Bring to Make An Impact**
+ Prior experience servicing electronic and mechanical equipment.
+ A good understanding of computers and Windows operating systems (automation programming and/or Linux OS experience desirable).
+ A current driver's license and the ability to travel across Tasmania, including at short notice as part of the on-call roster.
+ Strong customer service and communication skills.
