The Research Analyst is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Recognized subject matter expert within one area. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Is an acknowledged authority both within and outside area of expertise. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication is typically required. Provides advanced judgment and conducts in-depth quantitative or qualitative analysis to solve problems and develop new, innovative solutions. Required to think beyond existing solutions, assumptions or current knowledge of sophisticated areas. Significant impact on a function and/or the business through making decisions that determine technical approaches and strategies for the area.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Responsible for coverage of a number of high profile stocks
+ The role will include contact with Citi's sales and trading platform, global institutional clients, senior company executives, and senior investment bankers with the common goal of developing all aspects of Citi's franchise
+ Build out lead coverage and obtain market leading client recognition in a number of stocks
+ The person will be expected to market ideas and products to Citi's Domestic and International institutional clients, and serve as a team player to internal partners like Sales and Trading
+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
**Qualifications:**
+ 15+ years of relevant experience
+ MBA/CFA preferred
+ Significant recent success in external surveys across the sector
+ Recent personal involvement in successful corporate activity
+ Demonstrated ability to think independently
+ Evidence of thought-leading, collaborative global research product
+ A significant number of client references as a top three sector analyst
+ Secure and maintain applicable licenses

The Australian Equities Research Team focuses on producing high quality and insightful research on listed companies and industry sectors in the Australian region, as well as on global thematic trends impacting sectors under coverage. The team looks to build long-term relationships with, and provide research and analysis to, regional and global institutional investment firms, listed and unlisted companies and key industry players.
**The Role:**
An opportunity exists for a highly talented professional to become a member of our Australian Natural Resources Equity Research team with lead coverage in Precious Metals and other Metals & Mining stocks.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate and work in deep partnership with our globally ranked, leading regional and global natural resources research teams bases in HK, London, and NYC.
The role will be responsible for the production strategic equity research and compelling tactical investment ideas to our highly sophisticated global and local client base. To deliver this, you will have access to world leading Commodities Research and support from the regional and global platform including highly ranked Economic and ESG Research.
To be successful, you will have a strategic mindset and developed commercial acumen with the technical skills to perform forward-looking modeling, industry research and valuation projections; and skills to present investment ideas to guide and advise sophisticated internal and external audiences.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead Analyst responsibility for Precious Metals and other Metals and Mining Stocks. This will include production of thematic and company specific strategic equity research and compelling tactical investment ideas.
+ Development of forward-looking modeling, industry research and valuation projections to drive the delivery of high-quality research for our clients.
+ Further deepen and expand strong relationships in the Australian Resources Sector with both companies' investor relations, company management, other industry participants and institutional investors.
+ Collaborate with local and regional colleagues on research projects to enhance the overall Natural Resources Research offering.
+ Adherence to local and global regulations and firm policies to mitigate regulatory, operational, and reputational risk. Demonstrating ethics and integrity in alignment to the bank's values and expectations on conduct.
**Preferred Background, Qualifications and Skills:**
+ Relevant work experience preferably gained within banking, sell side equity research, buy side investment analysis or corporate experience that forms a strong foundational knowledge to excel in the role.
+ Deep technical skills across company and industry analysis with the business acumen and strategic mindset to develop compelling research.
+ Communication, influencing and presentation skills with the ability to develop relationships with internal stakeholders and teammates.
+ A collaborative and creative mindset with the ability to work as part of the collective regional resources team.
